Hey Dawg,

I'm originally from a small town in West KY called Beaver Dam.  Not too far from big blue country...LOL  I may have to get with your buddy some day for sure.

Fishaholic,

I'm basically repainting older lures right now and at the moment the DT Series from Rapala seem to be the staple here in the local area in GA.  I'll buy the black and silver DT baits (nobody buys them) and will paint them up for myself or buddies.  I've never done the "replica" bare plastic baits from Stamina or other places as of yet.  I do repaint a bunch of new-in-box lures to suite my taste and some friends here.  The green/white/blue trap is one that I've done more than I can count.  I've also done several Norman Little N's too.

I use laquer base paints in several opaque,blending/bleeding, pealescent, metalic, shimmering....ect with around 3 - 4 coats of a Dupont epoxy clear.  All with a dual action Pasche VL series gun.

I may sit down and repaint some...Mike'll get a kick out of this...Rat-L-Traps that I have collecting dust...and show em to you...I like the idea of being able to trade artistic images with you. Who knows between the 2 of us we just might hit on something above and beyond spectacular.

Thanks for the info...I'll let you know when I've got something to share with you.

Papa,

Thanks a bunch,

I've got a couple of faithfulls here that I'll get a call from on Friday nights before a tourney and I here "Man, I need a couple of baits painted......NOW!!!!"   LOL

Needless to say, I'll hook them up for a small donation of my favorite beverage or if I paint 3 baits they give me 3 new ones.

Never really thought of selling them.....Allway's seemed to be an "edge" for myself to have a "different" bait.   Now, if the price was right, then I may reconsider.....LOL

Anybody want a custom Rattle Trap for $8......?

Mike Cork

8 bux for a custom painted rattle trap, I think you could sell that faster than you could make it :-*

Sounds good Fishaholic,

The funny part about most of these baits is that you could take a picture of these things from all different directions and the colors would change in every shot......LOL

I'm sure you know what I mean with the pearlescent and shimmering colors.  They are fun and some times I'll get finished with a crankbait and be like "Dang, there's 9 colors on that lure"

I have some traps that I should take pics of and post here that really put the "FIRE" in firetiger....LOL

225HO

Hey Mike,

Hold up here!...LOL

If that's the case I may have to become a sponsor here.....

$8 Trap's
$11 DT's
$10 Bombers
ect.......

You name the color......

Mike Cork

225HO Not trying to get you into something you may not want to do, but folks that charge 15-25 bux for a stick bait stay so busy they can't keep up.

I would love to see some of those, fire tiger rattle traps :-*

Hmmm, we don't have a custom painted bait sponsor yet :-*

Check out the interference colors...I've got some, they go on like a pearescent white, but in one direction they're metallic lavendar and in another direction the same area shifts to a metallic orange.

Now that I have seen you guys have seen what he can do, I want to say;I told ya so LOL...Now before you all get him so busy he runs the price up way past what I can ever pay for baits, I want to put an order in LOL... I am not going to be greedy either, I just want three of each LOL...

Great looking stuff BJ, you go dude...Laterz

I love the colors you got goin' on. I need the  1-, 4- and 8- in that blue gill and baby bass color you got.

I think you inspired me to get an air brush and try my own. Screwing up is learning too.

If you're going to get an airbrush...make sure it's a dual action gravity feed brush, it's a little harder to get used to, but in the long run you'll be a lot happier with the versatility and ease of use...I own sever Badgers and an Iwata, if I were you, I'd stay away from the badger unless you go high-end on the badger...my first two choices now would be Iwata or Pasche...there's other choices too, but for long range value and quality those two would be my first choice.

Gravity feed brushes are easier to clean and less wasteful of the medium you choose to pass through the brush.
