Hey folks,

I've been out of the area for a while for military purposes and when I came back I had several things on my plate here at the house.  Wedding plans ended up number one....LOL...

At any rate,  I'm back for the time being and will hopefully have more time to devote to the board and to the lake....LOL

Rowdy had given my secret away of my Husky Jerks that I paint on my own and I guess I need to show a couple of these pics off here to let folks know what he's talking about.  Now this is purely a hobby and I do this to rehash old lures, or when I can't find a lure while out of town at a tourney I'll go to the local Wally World and buy whatever color and paint to my need in the hotel room the night before.

Now this is all done with a portable compressor, Pashe` VL air brush and paint from a local supplier.

This is a lucky craft Jerk bait that I've done a shimmering white and blue back.

I love this color in clear water lakes such as Lanier.

225HO

This is a Mann's 1- that was Black and gold.   Most folks know that Baby Bass or Blue Gill are the best colors for this lure in the spring and Shad in the fall.  This is a baby bass variant off of the Black and Gold when I couldn't find baby bass in the stores.

225 HO that's a nice looking bait.  You do good work both with those baits and the mounts.  Also if you are the same person good work with motors.  To bad your not closer I need some upgrades on my motor,.

225HO

The Shad Rap is one of my favorite baits in the spring up untill post spawn.  I love to throw these little #5 Shad raps in shallow water.  This is a variant of the White Chartruese Shadrap that I've added some sparkling blue to.  They do like this bait in dirty water.

Thanks Rob,

I'll bet with the help of Rowdy, Boger and myself.....we could get that TR21/HO Combo running real nice for sure.

Thanks for the compliments on the baits.  I bet you'll like this one.........

This is a Poe's 400 serie's bait in the classic blue and chartruese pattern.  I've added some shimmering red (that you may not be able to see) and then the stripes down the sides.  This kills smallies and largemouth on Dale Hollow in KY.

bassadict69

Those are some awesome looking paint jobs! I'd almost be scared to throw em'. That baby 1 minus is killer!

225HO

This is probably one of my most secret summer killer lures.........
Rapala DT16 that started life as a black and silver shad pattern.  This particurlar paint job has 8 colors and is killer for post spawn fish that lay up on deep rock points, humps or ledges.  Dynomite on Eufala, West Point and Sinclaire.

225HO

This is a bait that excells in the post spawn.  This is a Strike King Siries 3 deep diver that started as the basic chartruese and brown(or whatever color they were thinking) and I painted it to look like baby bass.

When the fingerlings start swimming this bait is deadly.

225HO

This is also one of my favorites of all time.  Actually can't believe that I'm divulging.....LOL  But you folks do seem like a good bunch.

This is a Bill Norman Deep Little N that has a several color paint job of brown, flesh, red, orange and 2 shimmering colors that is killer in clear or dirty water.

Notice how the scales have been painted (unlike factory) to make the bait swim as a craw swimming backwards (just like the big DT 16)

This is a variant of the Strike King Series 1 bait, in chartruese and white with glitter.

I've found that blue works well in dirty and clear water especially for spinnerbait trailers and for added color to crank baits when they suite the bill.

These next few baits are baits that I've actually done in the last couple of days, getting ready for tourney season.......I spen some time refreshing old lures or just painting new ones that I can't find the right color of this time of year.

This is a Yozuri Ratt'lin Vibe that was originally in a Firetiger pattern and I've added a blue back and pearl bottom to.

The blue back seems to do particularly well in the SE as red does in the West.

225HO

I really can't tell you what goes into this bait except for it's a Strike King Deep Diver Series and that's about it.......LOL

This color has paid for my boat payment for the past couple of springs once I came upon it.  Something about the blue, gold and chartruese and the bass love it.....

225HO

Here's one that I've done about 4 of in the last week.  Storm Chug Bugg......  I love these baits.
Again, I do alot of blue, Shimmering white and ad the black spots all the way underneath.  This lure with an oversized front hook and a quality feather'd rear is awsome to say the least.

225HO

#16
I've saved the best for last here.   I know that rattle trap fans dye for red however, unless you've tried one of these you'll never know how good they are...LOL

Green+ pearl white + special blue craw stripe and orange lower jaw = bass magnet in the prespawn.

225HO

You know, this whole time I was thinking about Rowdy and how he was talking about the Husky Jerk.  Well, I guess I'll throw this last shot in of a Husky Jerk that I've painted over about 6 times now.  You'll be able to tell from the scares on the sides and such, but she will still catch fish.

This is my fovorite, most "confidence" color in a jerk or topwater bait to date.

Here's a Chug Bug in the same pattern.........Gotta Love it......Bass Do!!!!

Great loking baits there 225HO . You sure have the talent there on the painting, ever think of custom painting on cars?

OK I want one of the Bevey shads, The Husky Jerk, and the rattle trap. Ya can't tease like that.  ~shade

Hey Dawg,

Thanks a bunch for the compliment,

I've allways wanted to paint (for some reason) I have done tanks and fenders for bikes and then my motor.  That's been about it for the big stuff....Now, if I had me a booth to fit  a sweet classic mustang, Cuda, Comaro, Vette in then I'd go at it with the cars for sure.  I'm limited at the moment to about 800 sft so the small stuff has to do for now.

I'd love to get the opportunity though.

225HO

Bass1cpr,

Seems like you think like I do......No time like the present to prepare for the "BITE"....

Shoot me an email and maybe we can work something out.

Brandon.

225, A good friend of mine would welcome you in his shop anytime. He loves the mustangs , restores all kinds of oldies. Custom painting is big $$$ .Come up anytime.

Fishaholic

So, are you just repainting existing lures? or buying similar style bodies and painting them? I do some airbrushing myself, I use a dual action Iwata, with a combination of transparent, opaque, pearlescent, metallic and interference colors in polymer vinyls...I've done some custom painting on flippin jigs but never done it on a crank...

I assume they're coated with a waterproof epoxy finish, do you favor a specific brand?

BIG PAPA

Some of the best work I have seen ~c~ Have you concidered selling them?
I bet a lot of people would love custom looks like that :)
