I got this bright idea that I would build my own jigs and buzzbaits. More for fun than anything. I found the items I needed online at a site called, Stamina Quality Components. Beware, I'm starting to think this company is a scam. It's been over a month now and when I contact them, they are arrogant and really don't care about my concerns. They tell me, "maby next week". Well, I'm out about $50. I guess that's pretty cheap for a lesson learned. Don't think I will try ordering stuff on-line again.

Dang, I've purchased a bunch from Stamina with out any problem but not real recentlly since they didn't send me a catolog this year. With most of my supplies I'll figure out what I need and price in the catologs then place my orders online.
Hate to hear about the problems your having with them!

CJ Basser8

Yep...i have had nothing but problems with them... i ordered 3+ packs of football heads, paid for them, and never received them.  Next they sent me the wrong heads, so I called them up, and they said to keep the wrong heads, and they would ship me out the right ones out..they ende dup sending me the wrong heads again, so I gave up on them

I just received my order from them and wasn't complete seams like they are always out of the skirt material making silicones I ordered some swivels for some spinnerbaits and the orings are cheap and thin won't hold up. I would like to change to another company but stamia is alot cheaper on their skirt material than anyone else I found. Jannscraft can't afford them they are high on everything that I need next step is barlow's but they don't have some of the colors I want. and hate paying for 2 different shipping charges when the other has the stuff. I have ordered before and waited along time every time I order now I tell them if out cancel order don't back order anything. I was 4 skirts short on this order but everything else was there.  I   got the color I really needed the most. GIve them time it will come one year.

I deal with them quite often and haven't had any problems. Sometimes something is back-ordered but they never charge me shipping the second time. I've spoke with them on the phone many times as well and even struck a deal with the owner on a few items.

I deal with them at least a few times a year and never have had any problems. Actually it only takes a week or so and I have all I need. I agree the prices are very reasonable compared to other places. But I only use them for a few choice components. All I build are buzzbaits.

I hear many complaints about Stamina.  Mostly about long shipping times and back ordered items.  I have never had a problem so far.  There web site warns you that this is there busy time and if you are in a rush pick the shipping method to suite your time line.

I always order from Stamina at least one week before I will need the parts because I know they are not the fastest on shipping, but I have never had to wait more than 7 business days for a order.

Beagle, I wouldn't give up just yet if I was you, but stay on them. I haven't purchased from Stamina recently, but have many times in the past. Never had any major issues, but they were sometimes a bit slow getting things shipped out, and back ordered items were sometimes a problem.

You might try Jann's Netcraft, or Barlow's Tackle, both of which also have printed & online catalogs. Some items that both carry are a bit higher priced than Stamina, but they generally ship faster, and they seem to keep a better stock of most lure component items.

You might also check out Hagen's. They have a good selection of components too.

I too have never had a problem with Stamina. Have always gotten my complete order in a timely fashion, with no back orders. But I know that doesn't help you with your problem.

Beagle

Well, at least I know they are not a scam. I made this order a week before I needed the items. Now it's almost 3 weeks after I needed them. Evidently they are just a middle man and don't have one of the items in stock.

GotstaFish

They are a middle man. If you want to cut the middle man out PM me with what you are looking for and I'll point you in the right direction.  ;)

i have had the same problems with stamina.  you will get your stuff, but if one thing you ordered is on backorder, you wont get a shipment until it shows up.......i took a couple months for my hooks to show up........it sucks, but that's how they do business........ ~rant

This has been my experience too. Sorry for the long wait.

I would second trying Barlows (near Dallas) for components.  They have a good selection, good catalog , and good service from my experiences.  http://www.barlowstackle.com/

I have never had a problem with stamina. Delt primarily with them occasionally with Jans and once with barlows.

Beagle

Update, Almost 4 months later I got my stuff.

Thats way too long. What kind of buisness expects customers to wait that long and think its ok? These people should be out of biz imo.

I'm glad I saw this, I've been thinking about getting into making some lures myself.  Just some basic stuff at first since I'm on a limited budget, but I'll find another place.  I checked out Barlows Tackle and they seem pretty good, I might order some things here in the next couple weeks.

Rebbasser

I've been ordering from them for a while-no real problems except backordered items.  I make my own spinnerbaits, and they are the only ones that carry the type of spinnerbait head I like to use.  I'm still waiting for an order of these heads I placed last November :bang!  If I could find another supplier I'd change in a heartbeat.

lure buddy

Go with Janns Netcraft or Barlows.  Both are great.

I have made two orders with Stamina. The first was very slow in coming. I inquired and found out one item was back ordered. The second order was extremely fast in coming. I did receive my Barlows book saturday and will probably make an order with the. I think they may be a little cheaper on skirt material, not positive.

I live fairly close to Lure Craft and just stop by there when I need something plastics related. They are very helpful.

On a side note, I made my first batch of 5inch stick baits this weekend from an aluminum mold. Walked down to the lake and caught a nice bass on my third cast. Very promising. I love catching fish on lures I made myself!!!

I've never had an issue with stamina. I've found that when I make orders to any of the supply companies, if you call them first and check the status of the items you need(ie. not on back order), that there is never an issue.
