Choke Canyon Bass Fishing Reports

Any of ya'll familiar with Choke Canyon...If not, you need to be! ;)
Bass are staging to spawn and are hitting Chartruse Spinnerbaits Early and Carolina Rigged SoftPlastics Later in the day off main lake points.  The prefered colors seem to be Watermelon red, and watermelonseed.

I have had some luck at possem creek on large minnows. the biggest so far is 6.5 lbs but have seen alot bigger in the water. I will hit 99 tomorrow and try for both white and large mouth bass. wish me luck ~rain

we decided to launch at the bracen boat ramp pass Tilden.We trolled  the San Miguel River back towards Tilden. I had a nice hit on a yellow road runner-fought it for about 10 minutes but lost it in the tree stumps. 20 lb string and I couldn't even get it to the surface to make out what it was. other than that just a few cats--  untill next week

I did not know the name of it but I think this is where Lockjaw usually holds our tournaments.

The White Bass should be tearing it up right now at the 99! 
Bass Champs had a Tourney last weekend, 198 teams.  50 limits weighed over 20 pounds! :shocking: ~c~
