I am wanting to buy better rods for my worm rig & my jig rig. What would ya'll suggest? (without spending $200 per rod)

There are so many options out there I haven't got a clue where to start!  :help: :-\

for 59.99 u can get some bad  ^-^  all star rods they i used to us bionic blades until i found these very sensitivve and strong

bassadict69

I thought the All Stars were more expensive than that! I'll definately check into them.

adam

i buy mine from dick's sporting goods there not there high end stuff but they are awsome i love them i would compare them to st croix mid line rode

Ron Fogelson

BA, BPS has some allstars on sale for 29.00 right now

muddenz71

bps is that online or just at the store for the all stars

bassadict69

Are the All Stars a good rod, I would like as many opinions as I can get!
I would like something alot more sensitive than the el cheapo's I am using now.

Which action, length, etc. is recomended?

Friday night is Midnight Madness at Bass Pro...I know where I'll be?

I would look at the St. Croix rods, either the Premier or the avid. I think the avid has better sensitivity but runs around 150. If you do get to 200 or just under the Loomis IMX is a great rod and the price is coming down because it is an older model.Actually I think it is better than some of their new stuff.
I FISH....
THEREFORE I AM!

James the Allstar classics are very good rods. And they have a couple of rods above the Classis, such as the elite and team Allstars that sell I think for about 100.00.
But I still use several Classic All Stars and am very happy with them.
Plus Allstar has a lifetime replacement. ~c~

papa ;D

so u pick a rod yet   what kind did u pick or do u have any more ????

Chris

I agree with Papa..... All Star Classic is unbeatable for the price.

I'll check out the All Stars tomorrow at Bass Pro to see which ones they have on sale. I plan on looking all of them over tomorrow!

Bass Adict give the Falcons a good loook too.  Their Cara line up is awesome.

I'll put my vote for an off the shelf St.Croix Premire Series ($75-$100). You won't find any other rod built with the same high quality components and a two year warranty with better action and performance, Period!
Oh, I would put a Shimano Curado on it and smile all the way to the Lake and back.

Good Luck choosing,

Bassaddict Here's some prices for Falcon Rods. Falcon Low Rider series $84.99 to$119.99  Falcon Cara Very good rods. $119.99 to $149.99  Falcon Expert their top of the line. $139.99 to $179.99 Falcons have Life Time Warranties. I'd recomend a close look at the Cara's

Bassaddict the Falcons are one fine rod and I totaly believe at the price you can't beat the Cara's.  You might also want to look at eh Quantums.  The Tours go for around 70.00 dollars.  If you want to spend around 150.00 you can get the PT Tour.  I have 3 PT's I bought when I made the State Team 2 years ago and I would put these up against any rod any day.

I love my Falcon Lowriders and my CountryKat custom rods, but for the money, those All Star rods are going to be hard to beat.  We just started handling them in the Dick's Sporting Goods (converted Galyans) I work at.  Just doing the test where you place the rod tip to someones throat and FEEL them talk is amazing.
Those are some great prices quoted on the Lowriders but for the same $ I like the CountryKat rods.  Here is a link to the site; http://www.countrykatfishing.com/

What kind of warranty do the St Croix rods carry?  The lifetime replacement on the Allstar Rods sounds pretty awesome! I have used the BPS Extreme Rods and anytime I ever had a problem with them BPS took them back and replaced mine with a new one. You see a lot of talk about price and many times you really do get what you pay for but, I think the question a person has to ask him or herself is, How much better of an angler does a more exspensive rod make him or her? What I mean is, if you are on that next level then your ability warrants a rod you can do more with, if you are a beginner then it is a waste of money because you will never get the full potential out of the rod. Just a thought...

A good rod will last you a lifetime. IT's really get the best you can afford. It doesn't have to be what is considered the best rod out there. Just a good quality rod that you are comfortable with. Falcon's start with the Original series from about $49.00 to $69.00 then step up to Falcon Low Rider. Falcons have lifetime waranties.

The warranty on the St Croix Premier was 2 years last time I checked. On the Avid and the legend it is lifetime.

Around here in TX and LA...the All-star rods have just about always been a favorite for worms and jigs.  I've seen guys buy 2-3 of the $119.99 Allstar at the Academy where I go.  Just something I've noticed.  I use the Classic All-Star WMI which retails for $49.00.  It is cheaper but it is the one that I grew to love in my younger day.  It has a feel that I prefer.  If they are lifetime, that is hard to beat.  I got one for $39.00 when Academy had a sale about a month ago.  I'm sure that somebody near you has an All-Star rod you could try...You'll be hooked

Look at the team diawa tough and light series, it is much lighter then the premier series of rods and i feel it has a better action. They are about 120 and a very good deal.
