Anyone have any experience with this real for bas fishing?  Seems kind of small.  Is that an issue?

Thanks!

I have a dozen of the 4600 C3's and C4's and love them.  Have big hands and the round reels palm perfectly.  Have used the 4600's for many years and for the money you cannot beat them.  All they require is a little cleaning once or twice a year.  I cast, pitch, and flip with these reels, with an educated thumb you can cast almost any weight line or lure.  Started using braid a couple years ago and these reels even handle braid very well.  The newer 4600 come with the bigger paddle handles and a better centrifugal braking system.  The only complaint I have had with these reels was the smaller paddle handles, but I just replaced them, the new ones solve that problem now.

I have some of them....and they are work horses...the only complaint I have is they are heavy...

I have two of these reels. I think they are great, works well for the fishing I do.

I use the Hank Parker series ABU Garcia C4 4600, love the small size of this reel.  I too have big hands and the reel is very easy to palm and doesn't tire you out with a lot of fishing.  I use it for worm fishing since it is a 5:4.1, I believe.  Also use the C4 5600 for cranking, since it is a bigger reel!  Love them and wouldn't shy from one.  You may also want to check out the Revo series too these are some great reels as well!

I love those reels.  I dont have big paws, so I adjust my grip accordingly.  Abu-G's cast well, could winch a pick-up out of a mud hole, and require very little maintenance.  My oldest round A-G is over twelve years old.  Works as good today as it did then.   :)

that's the reel I started my kid out on for his first baitcaster...very nice reel. and comparable to what I used to use (the old 5600 C3)  Tough reels, great workhorses and easy to work on IF you need to (which hasn't happened yet for me)...I've 'upgraded' to a couple of the RN series for my heavy action flippin'/C-rigging/swimbait rods...for some applications like these, I prefer the larger/round reels...rest of my baitcasters are all Shimano Curado 200's...

Most of my reels are of this type or variations of them. They are my favorite reels.

I agree with the comments here. Best spinnerbait reel I have used. A little on the heavey side. But the smoothness and dependabitlity give me a confidence that I cannot replace with other reels. I have grown up with ABU/Garcia when they were together and since they have split. The quality is second to none. I have set them aside for newer lighter models and always pick them back up to use again. No other reel that I have found is as dependable or casts futher.
Just my 2 cents.

c ball,

Send me an e-mail () and we can discuss getting a silver C3 narrow spool 4500 for you.  Have a bunch of them and will work out something with you for one.

I have several of these reels. I personally like the 4600 series due to the smaller size.
Yes, they are great for hauling in big bass.
My first one was a 5000D. Costs me $23.00 from BPS !
