Money saver or myth

I have been told that using plumbers plastic pipe glue on the parts of a senko where the hook penetrates will greatly extend the life of these baits Any truth to this or was my leg being pulled ??

I have never heard that before. What I know about plummers plastic pipe glue is that the stuff I have used is just like rubber cement that you used to use in school. It is really sticky and then over a long period of time it gets pretty hard. I guess it could be worth a try. No help here sorry

From what i know about the stuff it is messy and is a 2 part stuff that does set up hard.I think it would be cheaper and better to just buy more senko's.

No time for messin around with glues when your afoot...I'm with DAWG...just stock up on worms, carry extras...it's faster and no mess.

It's all a matter of preference...wanna save money, use the glue and deal with the mess. Wanna save time, put on a new worm.

Try the 3X Zero's for durability. That stuff almost heals itself. I'd do something, but it sure would'nt be gluing anything. I'm all for using a new worm, plus it gives me an excuse to go to the bait shop.

Myth! Of all the plumbers glues-puttys-cleaners I've ever used, all were a pretty gommy mess

So, I'd just buy more bait.

if worse comes to worse and you are stuck at the lake and the bite is on with only one worm left... you can always use a lighter to heal a small wound in your worm. Mike and I were in a tournament once and of course the one color that the bass wanted was the one that we only had six of in the boat. We used the lighter all day long to heal and repair the worms that we had and ended up winning the tournament on those six worms and a stringer of bass that was made up of 5 lbrs... Dang I miss California

I don't think I would go in that direction. I can only imagine that stuff being a detriment to your fishing, maybe even toxic to fish. I guess if you see someone use it and then catch fish, fine. But, I would check out the packaging to be sure it is not going to damage your fishing hole.

I would second the votes on what has been already brought up. What I usually do is buy a bag of plastics and give them a try. If they are working well and I am running through them, I do the lighter trick. Once I'm off the water, I go pick up more of them if they were THAT good.

Of all the baits we purchase over the year, plastics are the most affordable of them all...ya got one that's working...stock up on em.

WTG...I usually buy my favorites in bulk and repackage them in ZipLock bags in more convenient numbers to handle for a day's fishing...just a thought.

Super glue...one mistake out on the water and you'll be cutting your trip short, unless of course you plan to carry acetone with you too, but I sure wouldn't want to be out on a hot day with a can of acetone in my possession...it's unstable at high temps.

I've done that myself. I would like to suggest changing brands

If you like senko's, try Sqworm Tackle's brand. It is tough. When I usually catch 1 or 2 fish on a senko, I have caught as many as 5 on the sqworm stix.

I bought some stuff at a bait shop yesterday call Fishers Glue. I will try it out this weekend and let you know. Its suppose to repair worms and hold worms to hooks.

DOA shrimp on the flats is my achilles heel.

They are about 2 bucks each, and can be good for as little as one hit if it is the right fish.

I have a good collection of shrimp with tails hangin buy a thread around.

Been thinkin about the Stoopid er a super glue thing when I got back to try to salvage some, but the one I tried so far didn't seem to have the same action.

For what it costs for the trip to the flats, 15 bucks in DOAs in a day is still cheaper than throwing sub standard baits. Aint gonna risk a memorable fish for it.
