i fished the grand wednesday morning. i started about 0400 and started catching fish as soon as i got there. all fish came on a black buzz bait.  managed to catch about 15 or so.  i had 3 fish over the slot with the biggest about 4 pounds. after daylight the bite seem to really slow down. fished till about 1400 only caught about 10 more small fish.  i guess the bite is on a night. all fish came on the west side of the bridge in the grass.

This lake is an awesome night fishing lake!

Mike Cork

Every June this lake turns on in a big way at night, it's just a litte far for me to night fish and then drive home. I have had several 40-50 fish nights with countless overs up to 6 pounds. Just wish I was closer :'(

Not only is Grand Bayou a great lake to fish at night, it seems like the only fish that bite at night are at least a couple pounds or better.  I only bring 3 lures:  chug  bug (for dusk), black worm or lizard, and a big black colorado blade spinnerbait.

My favorite is the worm at night.  They kill it.

Fished the TCTC today and had 3 fish for 6.3 lbs. Kenny caught the 2 unders. 1 on a white spinnerbait and 1 on a watermelon red fluke. I caught 2 on a spook both 15.5 , 1 dink on a spinnerbait and a 3 lber on a 10 inch watermelon snapback worm on C-rig in 8 foot of water. All the other fish came out of shallow grass beds. Had a good day all in all but it was hot! Congrats to M. Noble on the win and big bass!

Remember I wished you luck Mitch, not a much as Noble, looks like it paid off!   :roll2:

Sure is nice to see your partner do well

Chris

We caught 11 fish today . We weighed 1 over and 4 unders for 6-11 . The over was caught on a Texas rigged Brush hog (rootbeer green), all others were caught on a centipede, crankbait and Senko. We tried to force a pattern that worked well two months ago and it failed miserably. We WILL be ready for the UBCS. Im probably going to prefish it about ten times between now and then. If anybody wants to go let me know.It was great to see everyone again, it seems like the last tourney was five months ago... Congrats to Noble .

Mike Noble

Fished Grand Bayou today in the TCTC.  Managed to catch 10 total, with 5 that would weigh...one dink and 4 slots.  Total weight on the 5 was 11.40 with a 5.4 kicker.  Caught one on a spinnerbait early and 2 on a pop-r, the rest came on a carolina rig.

I'm taking notes ;)

Fished the TCTC as well, we had 7.7 all but one on C-Rigs. Laurie lost two definate overs but thats the breaks, just wasn't in the cards for us. We had two overs and 3 unders, and caught way to many slot fish :'( 16 3/4 was the number of the day :'( probably caught a dozen of them

Congrats Mike Noble ~c~ ~c~

just got home and unhooked the boat,,,,,had a slow day, we only put 1 keeper in the boat....had a good heavy 16 7/8" fish right off the start and then it went down hill for us. Missed a number of fish on bad hook sets.....and lost a good kicker fish by the boat and ended up with a broken spinning rod......
good to see everyone again, we sure enjoy fishing with all of you!!!!!!
Even Papa also falling overboarad to hug Merila's neck,,, :roll2: :roll2:

Glad to see everyone and visit, Merilla did not let me fall in, do not listen to Ricky ;D
Trey and I caught a lot of fish today, had a limit by 8:00( Did not get to the lake till 6:30) :-[ up in a small cove on watermelon flukes and 1 over on a frog, then wandered around looking for bigger fish , about noon we found some Moss in a small pocket that formed a pretty sharp drop into deeper water and just wore the slot fish out on a RIBBIT frog. We did manage one more over and culled our smallest fish.
Man I love catching top water fish out of the grass. :roll2: :roll2:

I would have took it!... A terrible day is having only 2 bites then watching EVERYONE else weigh- in fish & say they caught fish all day.

I have got to figure out why I am in such a slump this year! I have never had so much trouble catching fish!

Hang in there buddy.. Besides Grand Bayou in April ,my partner and I have done very little. It just happens that way sometimes . We have a real good group of fishermen and fisherladies. Everyone is good and anyone can win any tourney . Six tourneys won this year by six different teams proves it.

BassBUFF

You guys are ahead of us in the points! We've got catching up to do.

Chris aint slumping near as bad as I am. I'll catch fish with someone else, but get me in the boat with him and I barely get bit.  Dont know why?  :help:  I better figure something out before he fires me!   ~sweat

Terry and I fished the TCTC man it was tough. i caught a 15 1/2 on my first  cast with a spook jr. then a 14in a dink you can see the pattern i had. i did catch two of our keepers one on a 1/2 rattle-trap (babybass) the other on the spook jr. went a long time between bites terry caught the other 3 c-rig lizard and weight less senko 2ft water on a flat. we are slowly learning the lake just need to find the bigger fish  :help: it got so tough for me that i took a little swim to cool off hehe... p.s. chris if your ever off on a friday i would like to take you up on your offer.. we had 5 unders 6.10lb

Brian , I can usually slip away any time. This coming weekend Im fishing with a buddy in the Skeeter owners tournament on Lake Fork (If I hook your cowling ,I will bring it back to you  lo lo). We are leaving Thursday and coming back Sunday. Any day after that would be good.

Mike Noble

I did not catch near the numbers that others caught.  I felt like there were fish in the area since I caught three pretty quick...so I just stayed there.  I just got lucky with the 2 big bites.  I don't know a lot about Grand Bayou so I just went with what I thought was a good plan.

With so many other lakes so close, it is tough to make that drive.  We should all learn it better very soon...with 4 straight days on the water there.
