I still fish the Daredevil red and white lure every once and a while when things die off. They seem to work really well with smallmouth if pike aren't around as much to grab them 1-1/2" max with a retrieve to keep them just under 2-3 feet of water in6-7 ft depth. Normally grab within the first 10 feet of retrieve!

For soft plastic jerk baits I have have a couple of brands I use. The Zoom super fluke is one of my favorites and is relatively cheap. My second choice is Bass Assassins, They are a little bit more expensive but I think they have better action than the fluke.

Nitro Fish

Chompers Twin Tail Grub

This is one versitile piece of plastic, texas rig it, use it as a trailer on a jig or spinnerbait.  Fish will not let go, I assume it's the salt content and texture, but it's a winner in my book.

Lucky 13 by Heddon

I love the Lucky 13 because it really looks the part of a wounded minnow on top, just enough splash, and slight dive downward makes this bait trigger lots of super hits...great bait to work over stump and bullrush stump fields.

For a Carolina rig I love the Bass Pro Shops Stud Fri. I don't know what it is about this little fri bait but bass love them. They are getting harder to find but some stores still carry them. They no longer have them in the catalog.

Yum lures Wolly Hawg tails: These little baits are mid sized between the baby and regular Brush hawg soft plastics. They are ribbed and have the appendages that most people like. They come in an assortment of colors. They can be fished Texas or carolina rigged. Add some spike it and make it really work for ya....Dave

Crickethopper by Rebel

I love the Crickethopper because it's one of the tiniest crankbaits available, I can cast it on 4lb. test line and it not only gets the bass and pike, but crappies and slab gills eat this little bait too...great way to start a kid out on fishing.

BassBUFF

Cotton Cordel Grappler Shad- Someone sent me one of these when they first came out and it worked so well in the Fall running in the creek channels I bought another. They dive 6-8 ft and have a tight wobble.

I have two new custom jerkbaits in hand that were custom painted by TClarkCustomLures.  The special thing about these "Belly-Ups" is that the paint job is upside down to the conventional pattern.  This will mimic a dying baitfish better and I intend to increase my total weight during T's this year just considering this lure.

Use a jerk baits such as a shad assassin on a carolina rig...Awesome action!

Nitro Fish

Yum Wooly HawgCraw

This bait has bailed me out several times when the bite slows, use a good wide gap hook, small bullet weight and hang one.  The fish will pick it up and run......

For early spring fishing the Smithwick Rattlin Rogue is hard to beat. I especially like the gold Rogue. And for the post frontal conditions the Suspending Rogue is hard to beat.

Culprit Worms

I love the original Culprit worms in 100% chartreuse...they're not only that different look for a worm presentation, but it works great in muddy water, on the surfce, or as a trailer on a Johnson Silver Minnow...one of my other favorites.

Bomber Fat a it's a small compact bait that has a wide wobble to it and is very bouyant so it floats up quick

Spook Jr. If youre looking for that smaller sized top water that has the walk the dog action this is a bait to try. I have actually caught fish in the middle of january on this bait. Small compact size, great action, plenty of colors to choose from....Dave

Lake Fork Lures Lizards

From what I have seen , they have alot more action to the legs & tail. Even small ripples in the water will get the legs to moving or even the smallest twitch with your rod tip.

Tiny Torpedo by Heddon

I love the Tiny Torpedo, because it casts like a bullet, is great for that softer surface presentation, and can be ripped to cause a minor commotion on the surface...great for schooling bass, and slab gills...never took a gill under a pound on this bait.

OHbassaholic

My #1 producing spinnerbait is a custom job by B&D Custom Lures.  It is called the Derby City Special.  This 3/8 oz. twin willowleaf in a special rootbeer pattern has worked fantastic in stained water applications around wood type cover and structure such as docks.  I have caught keeper bass from slow rolling to burning this lure just under the surface.

For Top water action the Rebel Pop-R is hard to beat. I like to fish it early in the morning around just about anything.

The lucky Craft cb200 moonsault. A very good crankbait that has glass rattles and shifting weight for casting.

Nitro Fish

Prowler Worm

This is a must have when texas rigging, 10" red shad Paddle Tail worm. I've caught several large fish using this worm, fish seem to hit it when nothing else is working.

bassadict69

Floating rattletrap

Great for when you are fishing shallower water & grass. It dives quick when retrieved but it is not as much a workout to fish it when ripping the grass.

A devil's horse it has props at both ends and can be worked with hard or soft Jerks to provide different sounds from the props

Wave Worm Tiki Stick

I love this worm because it's a great drop bait, but because of its weight it's very effective rigged Texas-style weightless as a heavy slop surface bait...it can be cast a long distance even in the wind.

BassBUFF

Strike King Bleeding buzzbait in white- I run this near cover (lilly pads, emerging grass) and hang on!

I can't wait to try the Cavitron Buzzbait I got, It looks awesome. Got to watch part of the DVD also, this thing seems to gurgle along alot slower than the brands I've used.
