Strike King 1/8 oz. Spinnerbait with a red grub trailer.

I love fishing them in the ponds.
The bass just fall all over them, I think it is the small size
that gets them going!

Even if you've been fishing for 3 hours
and haven't gotten anything except
poison ivy and a sunburn,
you're still better off than the worm.

I have found great success with tequila shad, red shad and purple shad.... all great colors for catching summertime bass! I always use a 6" worm with and offset 2/0 hook 1/8oz bullet sinker

Mike Noble

I only use Terminator spinnerbaits because of the fact that the wire won't bend and the way them move thru the water.
Life is a B........each!

Zara Spook

I love the spook for its unique presence on the water as a surface bait...there's nothing like "walkin the dog" to call a few hawgs to the show.

Yitbos78

how about the sluggo over pads, still cant beat it mid summer

dave the dope man

YitBos..Yes I do like the Power worms. They are softer than the Gulp types. I bleieve the actions are comparable to the Zoom/Culprit brands. Go and get some. Try em I think you'll like them...Dave

the Pop-R popper.

It isn't as bulky as the hula popper but still makes an irresitable POP.

I have recently switched to terminator spinnerbaits. They last alot longer with breaking or bending, saving me $$$ in the long run. They run truer in the water making them easier to fish without having to spend time tuning the bait which equals more time fishing

oops Noble beat me to it!

Yitbos78

I have always perferred the action of a rebel pop r over the zarra spook. I never get a hit walking the dog with a zarra. I like the brown and white rebel with an orange mouth, I wear out about 4 a year

A Storm Wild Eye Shad attached to a Lindy jig spinner clip makes for a home made spinnerbait that drives bass crazy.  It gives the swim bait that extra flash!

I also love working with a rapala count down twitching with a 7 foot rod for river smallies and largie. Black and silver or blue and silver....both still work great at hardy dam in michigan.

Twitch-n-Go by Bettencourt Baits

I love this bait because you can not only work it as a surface bait, a jerk bait, or a crank bait but you can ever so slightly keep it just below the surface...all four methods present some valuable variations with a single bait...I use the pearl finish myself.

FisherMOM

Berkley Power Worm

This was the first soft plastic that I ever fished with.
I believe the scent and the tail action attracted the bass....
heck, I even caught a catfish once on one!

Spike It... Now here is where it may get confusing. I like to use the Spike it on the soft plastics that I have already posted on. The spike it line carries several colors and a neutral color for scent only. I am not sure if there is any correlation on this but I have found that by usuing Spike it on the power worms the combination of scents will effectivley increase my catch ration by up to 15%. Now this is my own experince mind you. but something to think about...My favorites are Chartruese/ and orange......Dave

My favorite crank bait in 2004 was the Rapala DT6 in "silver".  This lure shined when none of my other cranks were doing the job for me late in the season.

Yitbos78

I haven't seen any posts on Yamamotos yet. I got a lot of use this past year on the Senko (6") in pumpkinseed as well as salt and pepper. Great lure but at .60 each I wish the would hold out longer before falling apart

bassadict69

I almost always am throwing a baby brush hog. Lots of moving legs & tenticles to entice the fish to bite.

the Rodent by Bettencourt Baits

I love the rodent, because when you're not fishing with this bait, it's good enough to scare the pants offa the wife  lo ...it's a great bass and pike bait, and the smallies love it!

Yitbos78

I don't think that you can ever run out of baits but hey. I still work an old jitterbug on calm night up north. Green and yellow, dad gave it to me and I still have it 18 years later, nothing ever wrong with fishing a classic lure :)

Yitbos78

The cicada is a wonderworker on schooling fish in Indiana, All silver except for the top fin, throw it by the shad the bass are working in a circle and wait for the explosion !!!!!!!!

bassadict69

Suspending orange bellied rogue in the spring. It'll hover over a bed & in the stike zone making him mad til he attacks it .

OHbassaholic

The Spike-It Dip-n-glow saved my behind when fishing a T up on Lake Erie in 2004.  I caught nothing but Sheephead until I dipped the end of my plastics in this product.  I am not sure if it was the chartreuse coloration or the glow or the scent that did it.  Rest assured that I have a bottle on hand at all times during the 2005 season.

Yitbos78

I remember about 6-7 years ago when we started fishing yamamoto's and you couldn't go wrong. The last year or so I have seen a huge drop of them and a pick up in the older style baits like a plain worm/tube bait. I guess I would get sick of eating steak everyday if i had it for 6 years  :roll2:

Jitterbug by Arbogast

I love the Jitterbug because it's a highly overlooked surface bait that gurgles and naturally "walks the dog" without any effort on the part of the user, it works great as a surface bait when there's a reasonable chop on the water...not for the feint of heart.

My favorite bait for slow summertime bass is the 10 inch red shad powerworm it doesnt catch alot of bass but usually produces keepers. Also like solid black.
