Boat Show Tickets

Anyone have access to or have any extra of the free tickets for the boat show today?

Me & Brian decided to go today but found out everyone is out of tickets, at least everyone on this side of town.

Left work & ran all the way to west Shreveport to Alleman Kawasaki because someone there told me on the phone that they had about 500 tickets left. I get there & was told that they had about 50 this morning & they were gone in the first two hours. I was also told they only had 500 tickets to begin with!

I don't know who I talked to on the phone & it is probably a good thing or I am afraid I would have had to invite his ass out back. I was ticked pretty bad! What a waste of time & gas!

I'm going to check with Sportsmans depot in a few mins. if he has them I will get all I can.

only tackle i saw was upstairs, it was the riverbottom baits? a guy did have some rods that on the handle there was a slit cut down the handle for your baits to slide threw so when you put them in your box they wont get hung up? that was it.

That rod was there last year too. Neat idea but I didn't like the blanks at all

If you want a good show with lots of tackle and boats you will need to go to the Houston, Dallas, or Arlington shows. Anything called a boat show around here is like a bad welfare case,

put together lazily and not worth wasting your time on. The shows over in Texas generally have between 1000 and 4000 booths that take a full day or 2 to walk through and you will see more tackle than you have anywhere in your life.

Last year the so called boat show in Lake Charles was the same way. If you were looking to buy an RV you would have been in heaven. They had, and I'm not joking, maybe two or three fiberglass bass boats and the rest of the boats were bay boats and aluminum boats, and there wasn't many of those. Pitiful.

Wonder what happened to all the fishing venders...they use to have it at the fairgronds and there were venders everywhere...even K-mart was there.....Kinda wonder if having it in the new facility priced the little guys away..

Someone in charge at one of these convention centers should consider the format used with some of the shows in TX, if thats a possibility.

Guys its a ripoff EVEN with FREE tickets.... there is a 200K RV if you were ever wondering what one looked like inside. Had a Good conversation with Ben Clemens... got some exercise running from Reeves Salesgoons that didnt take... JUST LOOKING at face value. Saw one of the salestools about pass out when someone asked what made a 54k Ranger worth that. He kept stammering that " it it it it iTS A RANGER" " LOOK at the LOWRANCE 52Inch flat screen fish finder...." Classic.
Seriously folks the only thing I remember about it was the last booth up stairs in the back corner.... you can get starburst and snickers.
IM guessing there are about 25 vendors upstairs, 4 Banks, one soft plastics booth, 1 Rod booth, 10 travel/guide services, a few useless around the house seen-on-tv deals, and a trailer supply deal. Oh and KRMD.

All in all save your $$ a total waste of time

Thats the main reason....why come and spend maybe $1000 to $2000 in Shreveport when you can sell your product in Dallas or Houston for $600 a booth and 100 times the attendance. Just common sense makes the decision for me.

Have not been on the water in several days papa.....Drove around looking though and have not seen any. The pier at the state park in Oil City is under and expected 1 more ft. rise by sunday morning. Plus any rain we get this weekend.

We really need a good flushing in the lake, think the lake will really benefit from all this by springtime. Sorry to get off subject....

Even the vendors looked like they would enjoy a stick in the eye rather than sit for a minute more.

If you go walk over to the Reeves section and you will notice all the billboards of the Reeves guy? is it rodney?or rusty? but his poster was everywhere lol i thought it was funny, i guess he likes looking at himself..but if you go you will see what i mean..
