Took off early from work and took the boat out to Billings Lake with SUBTMFISHIN on Friday.  We managed to only catch 1 pickerel.  The water temp was 40 degrees and there was thin ice in some areas.  The air temp was around 50 degrees.  SUBTMFISHIN did get to practice with his baitcaster.  Think he only had one Birds nest.   Not too shabby for just starting out.

That water sure cooled down in the last week. Makes for some tough fishing when the water temps drop 7 degrees in a week.

Billings Lake; clear, water level normal, thin ice in a corner of the lake that does not get any real sun (fishing boat is not an ice-breaker), fishing in January with your best friend, MESS93...OUT-FRICKING-STANDING!!!!!
