Another great lake that is near Sandpoint is Lake Cocolalla.
It is about a 1000 acre lake and holds some nice L.M  Bass to about 4 pounds. The water is pretty clear about 6 to 8 ft. visablity. Not to many really big fish here but good numbers of fish around 2 pounds.
I like to fish this lake alot, it has some good fishing along most of the west side near the RR tracks, fishing the many trees and bushes in the water, and on the S.E. end of the lake in a small cove. Almost all summer any down wood will hold fish. There is a point at the mouth of that S.E cove that is a great spot, fish the outside edge of the weedbeds all along that point in about 15 to 18 feet of water with my Sink-N-Fool baits in a Red Shad or Watermelon red color. Around the point in the cove it's self there is a good brush pile in about 6 ft. of water that the beavers made that is hot also. Just cast one of my sinking baits over it and whind it back with a jerk-pause retrieve. Always just let the bait free fall when it first hits the water till it hits bottom as most of the time a fish will smack it before it can sink to the bottom, if no hits do the jerk-pause retrieve.

Hi, I read your Cocolalla Lake info and would like to ask a couple of questions. My husband and I just retired here and live right above Cocolalla Lake. We love to bass fish and wonder if there are any local bass clubs around. Do you know of any?
Thanks Maureen

Marlene and Maureen Fish N Fool Lures hasn't been around in quite some time. Wish we had someone from your areas to help out. We do have a couple other members from your state, hopefully they might have some info for you. If you find anything out, let us know  :-X We really want to get your state moving and getting a club involved is a great way to do it. We will give a free forum to clubs to use, let us know if you find one.

I know I am about half a year late but I just found this forum. I am a college kid down in Moscow but I have friends from PR so I every so often I am up there, sometimes fishing.

Anywhoo, over the summer I found this tourney schedule:

Apparently there is a Pend Oreille Bass Club?

I heard Cocolla is a pretty good lake for trolling also.  When is a good time to start fishing it?
