Try keeping a fishing log in a small spirial note pad. Keeping notes can help in the future for catching more fish.
I fish, therefore I am.

Ron Fogelson

Mike showed me this one.  Trim your jig skirt by cutting off all the strands by the head, the skirt will still be full but not bunchy.  Giving the bait a more compact look without having to change the size of the lure

When in doubt try everything...you never know what's going to work...you might be pleasantly surprised.

Don't throw those prescription bottles away as they are great holders for those worm weights and can be marked with the different sizes on them. Great for organization.

When wading streams for bass, walk with the current at your back and drag your feet on the bottom once in a while, kicking up bugs and whatnot...this can trigger a feeding frenzy.

BassBUFF

Use the tail end off busted platics for jig or spinnerbait trailers.

Trying to learn how to skip a bait under a dock or over hanging trees, start with a spinning rig, no backlashes to contend with, & once you have to technique down pat you can move to a bait caster

To improvise a swimbait such as a Storm Wildeye Swimbait,
clip it on to an all purpose Lindy Jig Spinner for added flash and vibration.
It turns your swimbait into a killer spinnerbait!

Never wade unfamiliar water at night...

Ron Fogelson

When culling fish all ways put the fish you want to keep in the live well before you release the culled one.  That way if it flops out of the boat you still have your 5th fish

Mike Noble

Try to always have 2 of the same baits in case you lose one and if you are in a team tournament.  If that is "the" bait, you can double up by giving one to your partner.

When you are close enough to cast to shore and fish are skitterish, cast your bait all the way onto the shore, let the ripples settle then drag your bait off the shore and work it back.
