Never be afraid to ask someone what you're doing wrong if everyone else is catching fish and you're not.

FisherMOM

Well, it's been fun.  Time to get Celeste to bed!

Wish I had remembered this before 8:30!!!!   :'(   ;D bye!

Even if you've been fishing for 3 hours
and haven't gotten anything except
poison ivy and a sunburn,
you're still better off than the worm.

Ron Fogelson

Be a good example and keep your life jacket on when ever you fish with your kids.  They have to have it on while on the water so by keeping your on you are teaching them good safety and it all so shows you how hot it is in the summer for them to be all bundled up

Fishaholic

Carry extra rods/reels in your vehicle as backups...and as a precaution, a variety of spare parts/components too

Lipripper

Always tie mono backing on your reel when useing super line like fire line so you won't lose you line and it won't slip on the reel

A little mega-strike goes a long way....find an old rubber stamp pad and clean it till theres no more ink,  spread the megastrike over the pad and then just close the lid over your favorite hard or soft bait,,,keeps the fingers less smelly too.

When fishing a tube bait pay attention to your line...a lot of times the line moves but you don't feel a thing...set the hook!

If you don't have to run WOT, dont save gas, ware & tear on the boat motor & your back

Just a little less than 15 minutes to go on the contest ;)

Don't have the patience to work your bait slow, try stitching your line by hand instead of reeling it in...that'll slow you down.

calincalif50

No way to hold your line spools so you can feed onto a new reel....put a pencil in the hole and hold it with your toes, you can create all the pressure want just by creating more pressure :roll2: :roll2:

When fishing teams, always fish different depths. One partner fish deep the other fish shallow. That way you're covering most of the water column.
I fish, therefore I am.

If you bend your buzz bait blade to hit the head of the bait you can change a normal bait to a clacker and back depending on the mood of the fish

You can't catch fish if your bait is not in the water.

If our partner is using crank baits, try something different like a spinner bait,  two working is better than one

Fishaholic

Remember to take your wife and or the kids fishing once in a while so they'll be more understanding when you need to go without them.

Ron Fogelson

want to give your spinner or buzz-bait a new look, take the skirt off and thread on a tube

To make a great brush pile try taking your old christmas trees and put them in a 5 gal. bucket of cement. These placed about 5 ft. apart in about 6 ft of water, makes a fantastic fish holding structure. The last about 5 years this way too. I try to add to the same spot every year so it stays fishable.

Always carry a compass or a GPS unit with you...and don't forget your fishing log.

Hooks sets don't have to be so hard you pull the fish out of its skin, I've watch so many times a partner set the hook so hard he pulled the fish out of the water and toward the boat then had to reel like heck to take up all the slack line only to find the fish had time to get off
