We had a warm day today for our standards, so I got on the water today for a little RnR. Water temps were in the mid 40s when I started and couldn't get the fish to hold the jig enough to get a hook in them, so I went to the far shallow end 1.5-2ft and found water temps of 47. Threw jigs and tubes at them and got 9 bass (all just barely legal) and more pickerel than I could count. All in all it was a great day considering there is normally ice right now.

Outstanding that you got out and even better that you caught fish WTG! Nice adjustment too, recognizing the warmer water  ~c~

Chad, I was using P-line premium in 15lb test.

Miles, Congrats and I am glad to see that you were not shutout. I also see that it was a pickerel kind of day!! Did you do any Carolina rigging-it?

mess93

No c-rigging for me this time of year. It's either a jig, tube, or small plastic.

Thanks for that info, because I did not know that, so c-rigging is out of season until, I would say when the temps. go back up. Well I guess springtime = c-rigging!!

hesjustbassin

Summer= C-rig spring= jig or tube or lizard
