This is a picture from Caddo Lake Louisiana, this stretch is called Government Ditch and is about a mile long. During blast off folks head down this thing at WOT. In the middle of it there is a cross ditch that people can run across it  :o During morning blast off everyone is going the same way so folks think they are safe  :shocking: It does get so shallow during the summer that the only way to get through it is on pad :o

Sorry Paul Kieth I stole your picture ~shhh

How wide it that Mike?? and What is that stuff hanging from them trees  ???

Keep the Rod Tip up and the Hook Sharp

Sounds like a recipe for disaster!  I'd never get up on pad, all them trees look too inviting for a lizard.... ;D

And Mike, come on, we know that you CAN'T run 75mph down that.... lo ;D

Well it is about wide enough to fit two bass boats side by side and you are so close that you can literilly reach out and touch someone lo

That stuff hangin' off the trees is cypress moss better known as the bait stealer... That stuff will latch onto anything you got and pull it right outa da boat lo

Didn't say I did AB  :roll2: hey 73 is pretty close to 75  ~roflmao

Yep there are a couple big lizards that stay in dem parts. My worst fear is that my steering will break and you would be done-dee before you knew it......

It is exactly wide enough pass two boats, mind you I have never done it but at idle but I have heard of folks doing it on pad  :o

I didn't mean no alligator lookin things...Do I look like Crocodile Dundee? lo

I meant I would be pitching a lizard to each and every one of them trees...while the rest of ya blast past and run half way across the world to your spots... lo

Mike Cork

Well the man I stole the pic from says to do just that :roll2: Although if you like pitching lizards to trees you would never make it to this place there are only about 200,000 trees before you got here :roll2:

You should check out some of his other pictures :-*

Forget 75mph. I'd got maybe 50 if that.

Truth is the actual channel in the ditch is quite narrow, I am thinking that if you put 2 boats side by side there are a couple of places that you might not have enough depth for both boats unless the lake is full.

A chunk of my skeg is at the entrance of Government Ditch. Just in front of where this picture was taken.  My oldest son and I hit some kind of big limb that was in the water during an evening tourney. We got second place and won big bass for 180 bucks ,4 days later that money paid to get my prop re-worked. ~rant ~rant :bang

Caddo is truly a treasure and some of us are fortunate to live close to it. Pauls website has some great pics of Caddo. He also does custom overlays using pics of Caddo or any pics of your choice if I remember correctly. Im gonna use this service at some point ....hopefully soon when I bust that HAWG on Caddo.

i have only been there a couple of times. Hard to find anyone from my area that will go. I will have me a boat soon, so I can guarentee i will go alot.

I would agree with Mr. Noble on the midnight outtings. I don't think I have ever ate so many bugs in my life and I'm surprized that my knuckles aren't still white. I try to stay off caddo at night. Great lake for day fishing. Just be sure to bring your GPS so you can make it back to the dock. Pretty easy to get turned around or lost out there if its your first time.
