Cool day on Cypress...Fish with the folks from the base in the Maintaners tourny...and fished with Russ..

Day started pretty fair for us...picked up 2 keepers right off...Russ pulled in a nice one at 2.5 pounds or so....then it was kinda here and there after that...Caught several other small ones and finally was able to finish the day with 4 to weigh with totat around 5.5 pounds...

Caught fish on watermelln/candy and watermellon creature baits and a few on chrome/blue spintrap...

Congrats to the winners with 10lb 12 ozs, and another 10 lb. string also... ~c~

I've fished in some cold weather but today was the first time I can remember having ice form on our line guides and spool guide...had some Real Magic but forgot to bring it..may have helped with that..

Good tourny and did enjoy the day...and thanks Russ for the good ride... :)

Oh man I didnt know real Magic would do that... Shawn is gonna kill me, i had some in the box all day and if we had known.....   I missed a decent fish, well I had him hooked up in theory.  Lousyassed luckycrafts, I set the hook and some how he got off.  Shawn had one fish sit and stare at his spinnerbait and kinda poke at it but it refused to take.  We had our shot at a limit, but didnt execute.  I should have brought that fish in.  Still if we had a limit it wouldnt have gone near 10 pounds.

Oh going along with my standard mishaps, I noticed that I had no water pressure.  We figured it was Ice in the lines but I had to fool with it costing us time.  Oh and all i could think about was falling in after I went back to take the motor cover off.  Well it was the ice.
So anyway I noticed first thing that the boat wasnt performing like it should because of the jackplate height I had.  For this prop I have I needed it more in the water, on launch I was slipping the prop all over the place, it couldnt bite for snot. Best speed I got with it skint all the way back, ( I was trimmed to the point there was almost no boat in the water) was 77.  I wasnt getting the lift i needed and was banging the limiter.
Well Im getting a worked 29 pitch prop, should get me close to 90.

Mr. bigmouth

Hey Jerry...I really don't remember...was in Russ's boat so wasn't paying attention....no doubt was warmer than topside...ha

Some of the others will be along and hopefully give a report on that..Not much happening with the perch either..talked to a couple of boats and they hadn't done very well at all...

After yesterday...I think tournaments should be limited to April to October.  ~roflmao  It was just plain miserable.

Fogy and I only managed 5 with 3 that would weigh...just couldn't get any bigger bites.

Hey, guys sorry for the late posting of the results. My computer took a crap on me and I had to wipe the hard drive and reinstall XP.

First off Congrats to Railroader and Long.  ~c~ Those were some nice fish. And 2nd, I want to apologise for the "NEW" scales not working...they must have been cold or they are going back.
Here are the results.
5 fish              B-Bass     (the weights are in Lbs and ozs)
1st  Railroader and Long                  10.12               4.12
2nd  Fortier   by himself ~c~            10.00
3rd  Haraguchi and Reese                 7.12               4.7
4th  Swartz and Largo                      6.11               4.10
5th  Scottie and Jeardoe                   5.4                2.9
6th  Brown and Shawn                      4.15
7th  Taylor and Carter                      3.5
8th  Noble and Fogy                         3.3
9th Wayand and Korkowski                 Emergency had to leave (hope all is well Chris)

Did anyone notice how cold it was yesterday?  :roll2: ~roflmao When we first hit the water, I figured that anyone that caught fish would be in the money. I was grin'n big time when Scottie and I put 2 in the boat before 7:15 and at almost 4 lbs. But like anything else, it ain't over till the fat lady howls.
I wanted to have everyone introduce themselves up there yesterday but it was still cold and I know that people had places to be so maybe next time.
I'm planning on putting together some different tourneys for next year. Ex...Maybe a "fish with a kid" and do a bream tourney on the red. More to come on that. We won't be having another tourney until January and if it looks like bad weather we will move it to a warmer day.  ;D
Again I just want to say Congrats to the winners and thanks to everyone that came out and put up with the cold. You all are true Bass fishermen.  ~c~ ~c~ ~c~

I'll bet if it was that cold and you had $1 bills fishing for honeys, it would be different.  :roll2: :roll2:

First off Congrats to Railroader and Long.  ~c~

I forgot to mention that Railroader and Long get to pick the next place to fish. It is still undecided on where but I'll let you all know when they decided. If we have weather like yesterday I recommend the tank at B-Pro.  :roll2:
