Well, it sounds like Collinsville was one of the hardest hit places in the STL area.

We lost power at 3:30am on Friday and could hear the trees/limbs falling and crashing down all around the neighborhood.

My street was completely blocked by a big cottonwood tree 3-doors down. That's the one that took out our power line.

Collinsville is a mess and we don't expect to get power back for quite a while.

I drove to Effingham to find a generator. Now we have the fireplace, a couple of space heaters, TV, and most importantly - the computer up and running to pass the time.

How are the rest of you doing so far?

As of 8:30 Monday evening I am still without power.  I also have quite a few trees damaged.  I would not be able to survive without beer and a fire place.

I feel or you guys in that area, I work for U.S. Xpress and we have been going non-stop since Thursday.  I had one driver that was in the Cuba, MO area that had to be winched out 3 Times in one day.  ::)

I hope you all thaw out soon and get power back sooner!!!!!

I left Thurs. early am prior to things starting to freeze - Fished a tourney on Lay Lake in Alabama Saturday.  Returned home Sunday and had to remove a large limb to get back into my driveway - Glad I was gone - the limb would have definately made a mess of my truck!

It appears that we were pretty lucky. Our power was restored on Monday afternoon after almost 4-days.

My next-door neighbor still has no power after 7-days.

I assume that "Double-D" has the lights back on.

Paul, you didn't mention your power situation but more importantly it is a good thing that you were able to take the "Ranger" out of town to avoid any damage.

guys and gals my old man lives in Sprinfield MO. and sent me this link of the damage up at Lake of the Ozarks. Thought it was fitting for this thread and I knew you all go over there every year. It has several picutes of damage done to the docks around the lake.

Well one good thing about all the damage is that most of it was confined to what I refer to as   ~xyz   A-hole boats. Sorry for those people, but there are far too many of that type of boat on Lake of Ozarks. Just my opinion, if a boat don't have a trolling motor on it, or is some type of fishing boat, It don't need to be in the water.   ~rant

Thanks for the pictures Mike! I had seen a few pics on the local news last week.

I agree with Larry C.. The bass boat owners at L.O.Z. probably had their rigs out of the water prior to the storm. (or at least i would like to hope so)

In the end, all of the fresh debris on the bottom will likely improve the fishery once again.

That's exactly what I was thinking :toot:

The only problem I seen was that insurance is liable to buy those idiots even bigger boats  ~rant ~rant
