Laurie, I am mainly an Up Nort' fisherman. I like to go after them Walleyes, Pike amd Musky. I sure don't mind a mess O Pan fish either. I did have a recent trip for Small Mouth in Wi. That really turned out well.
I haven't caught many large bas of either species, but of those I have, I would choose the Small Mouth hands down.

MotherNature

I do have to say that I miss being able to fish for smallmouth. We had a great lake in California that we used to frequent to catch a mess of smallies and they were usually nice sized and fight! They sure can put up a fight ;)

isnms

ooops, seems I posted this in the Welcome thread and should have been here.

Hi all. My user name is isnms. I get that from my title, at the place that keeps me from fishing as often as I would like, work  Information Systems Network Management Specialist.
I am from and grew up in Texas. The past 12 years I have lived here in Oklahoma.
I have loved fishing for as long as I can remember. Grandma had two ponds on the property and every time we went to visit, spring, summer, fall or winter, we always had to go do some fishing. That would have to wait until we got the chores for Grandma done. Then we were free to go fishing as long as we wanted. Many times the only light we had walking back to the house were the fire flies.

Browsing through several of the threads here I can say that this is the best forum I have run across. I have not seen any bickering and cutting down, just friendly and helpful information. Even on the sensitive topic of the taking of black bass, seemed, most replies were logical that there are legal limits, size and quantity, and if you abide by that you have nothing to be ashamed of.

Anyway, Hello all and thanks for a great forum.

DAWG

Thanks for the kind words isnms about the site. We are proud of the fact that we have such a wonderful place for everyone to come to without all the bad things some sites have going on there.

Favorite lure is the one I have tied on, but I love to fish plastics and jigs.

Tubeflipper ,we are glad to have you here as well,if there is anything you need ,just ask and someone will be around to  .

Hey everyone,  I finally will get off my butt and tell everyone a little about myself.  Fishforfree sent me here and I'm glad that he did, great site.  And I am still , after a week trying to catch up with all the older posts.  I have even printed several posts, great option by the way.

Anyway,  I'm Keith Redd, 33 years old and I live In Virgilina VA.  That is right on the NC border just north of Durham, NC.  I'm married to my high school sweetheart,Beth, and we have one little girl,Logan, who is 7 years old going on 16 already.  Man she is something else.  Tall, blond and skinny(hope that changes before she is 16)and loves daddy and fishing.   I have been teaching Logan the fine art of a weightless SENKO on a spinning rod over the last month or so.  But she is a true power "fishergirl" as she says, loves to throw crankbaits.  I'm sure her tackle box with rival most out there. My wife, Beth, works at Duke Hospitals.  She takes care of all the itty bitty sick babies as a NNP.  That NNP is short for somekind of really smart woman that takes care of the itty bitty sick babies.  She likes to just lay out on the back deck or read while I'm fishing.  Suits me just fine.

I fish a bunch of local tournaments and try to stay on the low key side of things.  Fishing is a release for me big time.  I'm a police officer and I have a tough job to say the least.  I tell my wife all the time if I cant relax will fishing I have problems.  But I always relax on the water, even during a tournament I don't get upset if I cant get on fish(like yesterday).  Just keep on chucking.

I plan to fish a few bigger tournaments next season to see what I'm made out of.  I'm by no means King of the Hill around here,  but the King does fear me a bit.  Well maybe he fears me cause I can write him a speeding ticket.

I fish Buggs Island mostly.  But I fish anything within reach, Gaston, lake Norman, Lake Wylie, Hyco, Potomac, the CHICK....Everywhere in my region.

Well let me get out of here for now,  I don't want to keep going on and on.  But I'm always up to fish and chat.  Just give me a buzz.  I also am on AOL IM it is keithredd19.  If you have a site send it to me as I buy more stuff than I need.  I just love to look at the tackle and go over everything that I have.
