It usually takes a partner yelling "PLEASE get off'n this here lake." to make me give up.

Wind is the enemy for boat control. I fished a tournament on a lake that produces small bags a couple of years ago with my club. The wind was howling and it rained almost the whole time. Every competitior set up shop on the lee side areas of the lake out of the wind. I was the only one who stayed in the wind all day. I concentrated on pad edges that were being blown into. I visioned that the bass would be right up on the edges facing the wind looking for forage to be blown to them. I won the event with 12lbs and second place had a 1/2lb.

In the wind, you have to abandon any technique that doesn't provide you with feel. Soft plastics and light jigs are out for me. I rely on a spinnerbait, heavy jig or a Spt n Image, which all of my fish were caught on that day including a 5.34lb kicker.

now I'm one of those guys that stay out of the wind, I will cast into it if possible then pull back to calm waters. up here the fish do not seam to relay on the wind as much for me. I have won tournaments by stying out of the wind, where others have just went out in to the wind. It seams that the pressure on the fish is in the wind and the big one stay away form the pressure!

just my 2 cents worth!

Fishing with a heavy wind is where the sports guys get an advantage.  if you ever played QB you know how to lead a reciever. Same goes for casting, Got to get the lure into the wind just right to curve it into your spot...

MY casts are always breaking wind.  ;)

When shore fishin, I find being on the opposite side of the wind blows the baitfish to that shore and more predators are usually found.

Now ya know why Im constantly moving my chair,,  UP wind  ~roflmao

Actually, casting away from the wind (?) helps me to cast further since I dont have as much upper body strenght as Pferox does.  ;)
