Been throwing the little george tail spinners into schools and getting slammed, but, have yet to stick a fish. Is there a trick to hooking up with these baits? I would like to change hooks but how?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You can get a mold from Do-It and pour your own with longer hooks or try a trailer hook.

I would cut off the old hook, or just bent it out, if I remember right they are already cut to install them. Then use a split ring and a new hook.

The "Little George" is one great but underused lure.I keep one tied on at all times. ~shhh

I bought them at the suggestion of a friend of mine for when schoolies won't hit anything else... unfortunately they do work, but I can't stick the first fish with it.  :help:

I've never had a problem with sticking a fish but they will throw them pretty easy. There is another tail spin bait that I use, the name escapes me right now, and that one had a small hole through it where you pass your line, then you tie the hook on. The fish have a harder time throwing it because the hook is not attached to the bait.

Cut the hook off and use a good short shank treble hook.  If you use a long shank, it will lay back against the blade shaft.  Cut the eye of the treble with a pair of diagonal cutters, bend the eye open slightly to put on the hook eye on the bottom of the bait.  Once the eye of the hook is on the hook eye, bend closed the hook eye with a pair of pliers and your ready.  I do this will all of my Little George's I use.  I have about 50 of them from 1/8 to 3/4 ounce and have had no problems.  They will throw them from time to time, but I catch far more than I lose.

I tried using a split ring but the treble seemed to always tangle with the blade shaft.  I also went up one size in treble hook from the factory size.

Rattle that would be the Blade Runner and I have some, great innovation with the line passing through the body of the lure and tying directly on the to hook.  They aren't on my webpage yet but I do have some in stock and love them.  I'll post a pix as soon as I can get to it.

Is the Blade Runner a tail spin like the Little George and Rinky Dink?
Bill Lewis also made a similar bait called the Spin Trap, Also made a Rattle Trap that the line run through and attached to the front hook. I did a search for the Blade Runner and all I came up with was in a blade bait made in Austaila, not a tail spin. :-\

It is the Rinky Dink. They are great. The thing I like most about the little George and the Rinky Dinks is you can cast them suckers for a long ways.

Been havin' the same problem.  Fish schoolin' so thick I could walk on 'em.  Can't get 'em to bite though.

As a matter of fact I'm glad Crappie season is just around the corner cause fishin' for bass blows.
