Black Bayou - Benton Bass Fishing Reports

Dang...water skiers and no bites...at least you were fishing.

I haven't been out there but the last 2 Friday night tournaments have been won on Black, with the last weight being 18 lbs.

Were you by yourself yesterday? I thought I saw you going under the bridge yesterday evening when I was taking my daughter home. It was somewhere between 6 &7 pm.

Where all did you try? I haven't been out there in a while but that is odd for that lake not catching anything or any bites!

Yeah that was probably me, I didn't think I was going to get to go but got the "must do's" complied with and put of the "Need to's" and went.

The question is where didn't I fish, the lake is pretty small and I tried one end to the other with a few boat docks inbetween not even a bump, great casting practice though.

Well, it looks like it may be a long night Saturday night...

Me & Shawn fished B/B this afternoon from about 4:00 until dark. We caught 2 dinks on plastics and missed a decent fish on a buzz bait.

We tried points, docks, the north end, the bridge, the south end...we tried it all but didn't do good at all!!

you should be you caught fish, nothing better than going into a tournament when you are the only one catching fish.

I have a hard time believing that a bunch of  fishermen  that are prefishing for a tournament would even divulge they were catching fish anyway, so you guys keep on crying like Lou Holtz before a football game ------- Saturday nite will tell the tale.

Fishermen tend to either stretch the truth  or stretch the lies  they tell !!!!!!!!!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa back at you I can honestly say I spent 4 hours on Black Bayou Benton and didn't even have a bit, it must just be me cause everyone else seems to be getting a few bites.

not holding your mouth right   I guess you will be on Cypress with JR and I.  I havent fished Cypress since last year, I do not even have a sticker yet.

we have to meet at the Cypress ramp before 5pm to pay and sign up correct

I would like to get everyone to pay by 4:30 so anyone going to Black Bayou can get over there and launches...like me.

On the smiley's...there should be a row of them and at the end of the row should be [more]...click on that and you should get a pop-up box with more smiley's.  I don't think the "einstein" is available to everyone....maybe just Mr. Cork.

Fished last night from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. and caught 13.  We had 4 over, 1 slot, 4 under, and 4 short fish.  Fish were caught on plastic and spinnerbait.

Fished Black Bayou - Benton on Friday night from 7 to 1.  The bite totally changed in a week.  We only caught 4, with 3 on a worm and 1 on a spinnerbait.  The area that produced quality fish a week ago turned off completely.  I don't know if the cold front had anything to do with it, but everyone fishing found it tough.  There were 5 boats on Black Bayou and our one over and one under was the best.   Cypress produced a little better.

Fished BB Benton from 6 to 745pm yesterday. Caught 2 unders and one slot  on a carolina worm off of points. Has anyone fished cypress or black bayou recently?

Fished BB Friday from 4 till 7:30. caught 1 3Lb.3 oz on a green jig with a rattle( no trailer) off a floating dock at the south end of the lake. had one follow a fat free crankbait to the boat and turn away. one hit on a black/blue buzzbait as the sun went down. i have been doing good there the past few weeks with the biggest (7Lbs.8Oz) coming on a white spinnerbait with a folk tail trailer off a grass bed.

No photo really...camara didn't work to well, but its being mounted for my wall right now. The pic i have of it is mostly white. you can see it some but not good enough to post.

Fished Black yesterday from 5 to 7. 1 under slot, 1 @ 4.5, & missed 2 small ones. Nothing like a mid week fix, especially with Black Bayou only being 5 minutes from the house

fished Friday afternoon, got about 12 fish.  2 overs (3lb range) and one slot, the rest were under the slot.  Trey found some schooling fish with a silver crank bait and got four fish on four cast!  Trey smoked me 9 to 2.  My two came on a black/blue jig.  I can't put the jig down!! Had lots of luck on it the last couple of months.

went on thursday the 11th was very cold  not much luck only had 1 keeper 1 dink 1 bream all on a spinnerbait. go figure.. so today friday 12th went to caddo to the famous 17 pound stringer spot and had 3 over over, 2 slot so unless cypress can get better our vote will be caddo...

Sorry about the late post.    Fished BB the 28th from 0700-1000. My son got to cold to fish so I called it a day. Had a clean miss on the first dock i fished with a black/blue jig with black/blue craw trailer. Had 2 strikes on a white spinnerbait but just wouldn't hold on. Fished the wind blown banks just north of the launch.
