Probably ought to check on lodging ASAP. The Toledo tourney had over 2000 entrants. Lake Fork is usually over 3000 entries. There is alot more lodging on Toledo than Fork and Toledo was sold out except for a few expensive joints. I am supposed to be cramming in a buddies camp for this tourney but may stay with you guys if we can find decent lodging.

Papa I would love to go. Let me see what I can do.

Does anyone know where a good place  to stay is? and how close it is to the Tourney site.

Papa , I called around a good bit yesterday afternoon and nobody had anything available on the lake. I will make some more calls here in a minute to see what I can find. I will call you if I find anything

My brother said they are all but laughing at him when he calls. He was looking in Tyler last time I talked to him.
Sorry but it looks like this may not be workable.

Tyler?  Dadgum, that's a long way.  There's nothing in Quitman?

I like that nice little lodge right on the bridge (forget the highway number).  My brother and I always dock and have lunch at the marina there.

People in Quitman laughed and said they would put us on next years waiting list about 600 or so back.
Guy at the Minnow bucket said he had the same people pretty much for over 10 years or such and did not have a vacancy on those dates for years. Someone told him there are less than 600 rooms available around Fork and they usually have 3000 entries So Tyler at about 30 miles sounds much better than Shreveport at 150 miles. :roll2: :roll2:

I think there are camping and RV sites in the area around Fork.  That might be an option for some folks.

YOu know, I think the Minnow Bucket is might be the place I was thinking about before.
