Went in this morning and had my left shoulder rebuilt, several bone spurs shaved down, tears repaired and bicept detached, trimmed and reattached to the shoulder so it looks like fishing is over for me for a while.  According to my doctor, I probably wont get back on the water for 9-12 months!!  The nerve block has worn off, so no sleep for me tonight.  Good luck fishing, everyone and be safe on the water.

Have a speedy recovery. Shoulder surgery isn't any fun.

9-12 months is a long time. I'll try to avoid shoulder surgery if at all possible. Good luck with the healing.

Hope there's no complications and you heal quickly. You might as well make the best of it, all that money you're not spending fishing can be used to buy more gear and tackle. ;D

Got ya in my daily prayers buddy.  Don't push the Rehab, don't want you to do any damage.  Stay in touch when you can.

Man I hope your recovery goes faster than what they're predicting, but don't overdo it. Praying you're healthy and back on the water soon.

Dang it boy.... First if you need ANYTHING you got my number...

Second, I've been through almost all of that and the recovery is tough, the PT was the most painful thing I've experienced, mostly because I didn't do the home work and when I got to the appointments they would make up for it. SO DO THE HOME WORK...

9-12 months... they don't know what they are talking about I'll have you cane pole fishing for perch by summer LOL

Seriously anything, just call. Heck I'll take you out for a boat ride if it will lift your spirits.

Thanks, everyone.   It hasnt been as bad as I thought it would be.  SO FAR.  I started PT Tuesday, and go 3x per week for 12 weeks.  I honestly dont see why it would take so long to recover from this so far.  My PT lady was impressed with the amount of movement I have this soon after surgery.  I either had a fantastic doctor or am just luck so far.  I figured this would have been worse than my back surgery, but its not even close.

PT is a tough one but a must for any success.  Don't ever miss PT.  Good luck!
