Awesome trip.  already planning on a trip back!

by my Domestic fishing experience standards, I CRUSHED IT over there.  my bud and I got lots of fish.  obscene numbers.  by Mexican bass standards compared to the other fisherman I did OKAY.  I lost two giants that would have bested my current PB.  thankfully, I saw both whales...gigante!

First order of business here on my home lakes is to recalibrate my fishing expectations.  I had one evening where if I am being honest, I think I got 17 fish.  I sucked.  just couldn't get in the groove, our boat had electrical problems and had to beach and wait for batter backups..(We fished from shore and did okay actually)..I went home, sipped my one and only tequila shot to sooth the sore memory, and went to bed...half day the next day, and then I was done.  fishing was tough...but we got it done with spinner baits and of all things...a LV500.  both bottom fished slowly.  the fish were unaware of the bait change and it was crushage.

El Salto is having a local criminal activity uptick. and all the fishermen were relocated to Picacho and it became a bit of a boat race to "Punta Bueno". the good points.. my young guide got pushed around by the senior dudes and we fished lesser secondary choices..our guide didnt get a net for his boat.  we had to thumb treble hooked bass until I noticed other boats had nets..a Canadian dude made a stink for us and the last day we had a net.  hahahha.

whatever.  my Japanese baits were a mystery to the bass and I had a blast fooling them.  got a lot of dinks...(a 15" down was a dink)...out call out was.."hey, I got another Lake Berryessa Bass!".  my Guide would giggle when I would pull out a ridiculous bait to try.  for the record, my Deps Coverscat bait, which killed...was renamed.  "Caca Bueno"

and I dislike deep diver cranks.  they are uncomfortable to retrieve..like pulling in a small parachute.  yuck.  they make other options.

overall great trip.  met some great friendly people, met some not so friendly bigots..hahhahah...
I am going back!!!
