Decided to go to Everglades restoration marsh on US 27.  This is a place I had one of the best fishing trips of my life, and then three horrible trips.  It is home to a good population of big bass, but they can be hard to catch.

I was fishing from the bank today, and first thing I noticed is the water is over the banks and almost up to the levee itself.  This means I will be standing in water all afternoon.  I drive west on the south levee for about 5 miles until the bank water was not as deep.  Picked my spot a wadded in.

Another strange thing was for a Sunday there was no one out there this morning.  I was not expecting much after seeing that!

I started with a big Senko and on the second cast a 23" beauty.  5 casts later another 23" bass.  For the next hour I was catching at a regular clip.  Most were in the 14" to 17" range.  By 9:00 AM the bite was over.  The sun came high and they just went to sleep.

I threw a frog for a while but got no top water action.  The two big ones were in the flat, and most of the average size bass were deep and caught dragging a worm on the bottom.

Thanks Lou, first 5 minutes I had the two big ones and then they kept getting smaller.  A fun morning.
