I know this is a jig specific rod, but is this rod versatile enough to throw a C-rig? What's eveyones opinion on this rod in regard to bottom contact?

I believe that's the jig rod special ? I had that rod for a short period of time. That thing is FAAAAST. I mean too fast for my liking but everyone has different tastes.

What did you think about the sensitivity?

I think Dobyns balance and actions are great. If sensitivity was my goal in that price range the XP wouldn't be my first choice.
Nothing against Dobyns but in that range it's up against the Expride and Tatula AGS ect.

What about 744 EXTREME HP?

i have a slightly different take on this:  it's not just the rod, it's also the main line, and your/my 'hands'.

how sensitive are your hands?  how well do you feel?  can you 'feather' a baseball throw?  or are you tossing fire/gas with every pitch?

I use similar rods...  but they're Powells...

one of my favorites is the HP 753.  little bit of tip...  toss frogs, c-rigs.  basically, I think if you can toss a frog on it, it'll work for a c-rig.  my guess is the answer to your original question is 'yes'.

now, as for frogs and c-rigs:  long, long ago I made the switch to tossing these on braided line.  tungsten weights are also my choice.  either mono or flouro leaders.  the key was no-stretch line for positive hook sets.  Not the rod.

as long as the rod can legit handle the weight, if you use braid, it'll work.

If you are ok with the added expense of the XP that's fine. But again your up against other rods in that price point . The Alpha angler comes to mind. I personally have 3 and to my understanding they use NFC blanks . They are also made in the USA if that makes any difference to you.
I've been at this deal along time . If sensitivity is your end goal then buy a NRX or a Steeze and be done with it.
Yeah it hurts the wallet but you will never wonder what if.
