Pascagoula River 1/30/25

Got out today for the first time since the snow storm last week when I had 7" of snow and some single digit and low teens temps for 3 days, both very rare for my part of the world. Launched at 8 and back at 2 from Paige Bayou with my buddy John, some moderate fog and 60 degree air temp early and mid 70's by afternoon with strong South winds 15-20 mph. Water temps were mostly low to mid 50's today and stained water almost everywhere, very low tide early but rose fast with the wind pushing it in from the Gulf. We managed to catch 8 legal fish and about that many shorts on the day. John caught all his fish on the UV speed worm, about all he throws now, and I caught fish on the same worm, jack hammer, a small spinner and my better fish were on a 1/4 oz scrounger head with a Rapala Freeloader. Most of the fish were in 5-7' of water and very pale in color. Not a bad day but with our 10 day forecast calling for highs in the mid 70's and low in the 50's I am hoping for a good spinner bait bite next week.
