As of the day the lake is slowly rising a little but still around 2.5 ft low.  The fishing has been pretty awesome the past week. We have been catching nearly 100 fish per trip. I know that's a hard number to hit, but when its every cast it doesn't take long. All of our fish have been out in 20-35 feet of water generally, on points and hard spots. They are not on every spot but when you find them there's a pile of them. We have found several schools where you can sit spot locked and catch them every cast for hours if you find the right schools. The key has been to spend time looking for bait that has bass around them looking in high percentage areas. It should only get better as the water cools. Most of our fish have come on dropshots, Carolina-rigs and scoping with a minnow. Anyone looking for a Sam Rayburn Bass Fishing Guide please feel free to reach out.

Tks for making the posting.  100 fish a trip WOW.  Congrats on a very successful outing.  Just a quick question > do ya'll fish the entire lake to include the area North of the 103 bridge?   I've driven across that bridge numerous time and never seen hardly anyone fishing that area.

I've had the opportunity to fish Big Sam a lot back in the 80's while stationed at Fort Polk, La.  I've fished several of the Big Bass Splash events there from 2011 - 2014.  It's my favorite East Texas Lake with Toledo Bend a close 2nd.

If you get the chance and can remember Post some pictures from your Guide Trips.  There's a lot of people that visit this forum and that hang out here that's never fished that lake.  Be kind nice for them to see some of those Rayburn "HOGs" especial those late Winter and Spring time catches.

I live down on the south end now, and fish a lot down there. We fish mostly mid lake to north of the bridge in the springtime though. It's generally where most of the tournaments are going to be won or where you have a shot at over 30#. Not a rule but every year the lake is different. For guide trips and large numbers, I've got along a little better from mid-lake to the south end though lately. Its a different approach than tournaments where you aren't just looking for 5 bites. Lots of history and tournaments won near the 147 though. It's a lot of fun out there at the moment and should get better with this cooler weather. Take care man.
