The lake is setting about 2.5(162.03) feet low at the moment. There's still some water in the bushes and a little bit of grass in a few certain areas of the lake. The fishing was a little tougher this week than what it has been. It seems like everything is kind of in a late summer early fall summer pattern still. The fish just don't seem to be relating to structure the way they were when there was a thermocline. All the bait has shifted to out in 25-50 foot of water in main lake drains, creeks and river channels.

My strategy going forward will be chasing fish on schools of bait for the time being. Found a few large schools on Sunday that were around massive schools of bait.  You can catch them on most FFS minnow style baits, a dropshot with a minnow style bait, Alabama-rigs and a jerkbait, depending on where they are in the water column at any given moment. There's some better than average fish to be scoped if you're willing to put the time in using your electronics to find them covering a lot of water.  Keys being, just rotating through a bunch of fish until you find some actively chasing bait. As the water cools things should move up a bit shallower to their more predictive areas.  I haven't spent any time up shallow in recent weeks so not really sure what's going on up there. I hope this Sam Rayburn Fishing Report helps.
