I live literally 3 blocks from SR 84 which becomes Alligator Alley. That tornado was too close for comfort. Probably fished in that area many times over the years. Scary. We dodged the bullett for sure.

TechAdmin

I'm hella glad you dodged it, even if just barely.
Currently Tech Admin on here, you can also call me Flavio :) ...Yes, I am friendly! (Maybe) :P

I'm going to check out the Glades tomorrow. It's going to be a bit breezy for my taste, but it beats dodging tornadoes. ;)

I'll be scouting the Wildlife Refuge out on Saturday. Big tornado went through there yesterday afternoon.

You got to love boat ownership. You never know when something will happen.

I met up with Ralph
to do a little peacock fishing again this morning. Boat was in the water tied up to the courtesy ramp with the outboard off.

A couple of friends of mine arrived and were launching as well.

As we waited for safe light. I heard a whining sound in the dark towards the area where my boat was stationed.

The sound was constant. I decided to walk towards my boat, and sure enough, it was my boat! The trim pump was engaged in the down position somehow.

I ran down the ramp to see what the problem was. And long story short. One of my trim relays malfunctioned.

Unfortunately I had to cancel the trip on the spot and resolve the issue.

Fortunately, however, my boat technician was able to come to my house and confirm it was a bad relay. I went ahead and ordered two relays.
Boat should be fixed on Fri.

Never a dull moment with boat ownership.

When you least expect it s*** happens.  At least it wasn't an official guide trip!  Sorry to hear! :o

That would have been bad. I felt terrible with Ralph. The outing wasn't meant to happen.

Fortunately my boat mechanic taught me how to bypass the relays if/when that happens again.

Nice morning today. Humidity is way down, and the temps are nice. Is this what Fall feels like??  ~roflmao

I don't miss those pesky suprise boat and trailer issues that come with boat ownership. The only problem that I've had with my kayak is being attacked by a gator!  ~roflmao

Going to try my hand at bank fishing in the Glades tomorrow. The boat will be back in service tomorrow afternoon, but I need to wet a line. The withdrawal is really effecting me.  ~roflmao

I am going to be in Florida a lot in the future months and would love to get out with UB Florida guys or those coming down on vacation. I will be fishing Headwaters and Stick Marsh predominately. I have an open seat October 25-30 if anyone would like to get out. I haven't fished Florida this time of year before and struggled with the heat and the bite a few weeks ago so expectations should be in that light lol. Anyway, touch base if your interested this trip or in the future

Capt. BassinLou

I have the Mrs. vehicle serving as my backup tow vehicle for the time being. :) With the boat fixed and this nicer weather, I got to get out there! Lol!

Had a fun day fishing with the owner of Riot baits. He moved his family and business to Florida. Great guy. Looking forward to trying out some new baits that I've never used before.

We caught about 20 in the kayaks. Biggest went about 2 lbs. Nothing picture worthy.

Capt. BassinLou

Fun is good! Tx for sharing!

Capt. BassinLou

Went out fishing with the guys today.
Beautiful day, low humidity. 7 hrs flew by.
Coaxed a beautiful 7lbr to bite my swimbait!

Ordered a couple custom jigs, for my home lakes and the refuge, from Bizz Baits. Should be here today.

Had to cancel today's fishing trip. When I woke up, the wind wasn't too strong. I got to the water and it was blowing 25. There's always next time!

Wind has been blowing the last few days. I may have to bank fish again.

Capt. BassinLou

It's starting to blow now fortunately I made the decision to bank fish

Capt. BassinLou

The only problem is the fishing is horrible lol!
