Good afternoon to everyone,

:toot: Wow...Sept 2024 is upon us already where did Aug get off too  ~goof

I hope the new month brings good health and happiness to you all.  I have everyone in my prayers that are dealing with health issues and other life's troubles  ~shade

We're starting the month off with partly sunny skies.   Our forecasted temps are 74-89dgrs with 47%humidity and a NE wind @ 11mphs.   The next weeks forecast is calling for rain Mon - Wed  ~rain   We can use it as the ground is  kinda dry now.

There is nothing planned for today except relaxing and taking a nap  ;)

To everyone I hope your day is going well.  Be safe during this Labor Day Holiday.

Another hot day at the beach.  Weather will be changing this coming week with cooler temps and multiple days of some good rain potential.  It is kinda dry here too so the rain will be welcome.   Should have mowed the grass today but it is just to dang hot for this old man.  Maybe I can get it done between the rain drops on Monday and Tuesday.

Bowling winter league starts this coming Wednesday and I am looking forward to bowling on a new team.

Almost a fall like day today.  Temps in the 60s this morning and afternoon highs in the mid 80s.  Very low humidity and a nice breeze out of the NE.  Tomorrow will be a little warmer with the humidity starting to return but still a very nice day on tap if the weather guessers got it right,

Got out early and mowed the lawn today and since it has been fairly dry was able to take the weed wacker into the ditch at the rear of our property and get it all cleaned out.  Water tends to sit in the ditch for quite a while so when it is dry you seize the opportunity to do a clean up.

I was also reminded to pay my flood insurance bill for the year.  I have this policy due to the back ditch that can overflow during periods of heavy rain  like you tend to see during tropical events.  After all it still is the season for storms popping up.

Good morning to everyone,

Beautiful day here in Central Texas this morning  ;)  Our forecasted temps for across the area are 72-88dgrs with partly sunny skies.  We got 63%humidity with a NE wind @ 16mphs.  The week ahead is looking good lows in the mid60's with highs in the mid 80's.

Not a whole lot been going on here.  I've had some medical appointments that were / are being made.  My kidney doctor has reduced a number of my meds which is a positive thing.  I got an MRI coming up to take a look at my prostrate.  My numbers were kinda high according to my last lab test.

I not been fishing yet as the hot weather and me don't agree anymore.  With the cooler weather moving in I'm going to see about getting out more.  My wife has concerns about me fishing by myself and she mentioned to me she wish I'd sell my boats.  I've been thinking of selling the Stratos for a while now.  I don't tournament fish anymore and it's a lot of work fishing by yourself when your not 100% healthy now.  When the decision is made I'm going to keep my G3 it's a lot easier to fish out of etc.

Bud; Tks for stopping by and sharing the time with us.  I know you enjoy that cooler weather also  ;)  We're starting to get into the cooler weather months now.  Our next Major Weather threat wont occur unless there's a hurricane down in the Gulf of Mexico off the Texas Coast.

Top; Tks for stopping by also.  You guys down there in Florida are really catching here lately with all that rain.  Of course it's what the Hurricane Season for ya?

To everyone hope your day is being a good one.  Enjoy the evening ahead and relax.  Y'all be safe in your travels if you have to be out and about.

high's in the low 80's w/overnights high 50's which means the feedbags are being fit, then we will get a hot spell, then the fall feed will officially be on

Good Morning Y'all!

Looks to be a nice day today, although every day is nice since I was stuck inside, but now maybe I can muddle around outside more, maybe even sneak out and do some fishing.

Lots has happened, a few months ago I had some outpatient tests done that left me in the hospital for over a week.  Seems I'm allergic to anesthesia all of a sudden, and I've had Pneumonia off and on for a while, well, it seems they finally fixed that too.  Recovery is kind of slow to come around, thanks to being old I guess.  I have weened myself off of the Oxygen machine and tanks, and left the walker parked along the wall finally.  So I am much more mobile, although I'm kind of low on the stamina side.

We lost Tad, our last Lhasa Apso to some kind of cancer a little over Two months ago, he was 11, and Jan was pretty devastated by it.
To keep Shepp our big dog company, we got a Border Collie, Pittie mix named, get this, Jefferson.  They got along famously, was a very easy acclimation.
Well, then Shepp goes and does something stupid by bypassing the electronic fence and nipping some guy walking his dog past the house.  The city of Baytown came and got him that same day to be quarantined for 10 days then euthanized.  Lots of reasons this action is happening, but I've babbled too long already.

So glad to see everybody around, and I'll try to visit this thread more often.  It used to be my daily haunt, don't know what happened.

Hope Y'all have a great day.

Yesterday (Sunday) was a very cool day with temps staying in the upper 60s with some lite rain.  Today it is bright and sunny with highs to be about 80 with cool nights in the mid 60s.  So as you see we are getting a bit of false fall.  Usually lots of hot weather is still likely until about mid October.

Friday we were able to give the back yard shrubs a good haircut getting ready for the fall season.  Still have about 8 more bushes to do in the front yard and just may get to them tomorrow morning.  I have some trees to prune but will wait until about October 1st to get that job done.  Last job of the summer season will be to cut back the roses but won't do that until we know the temps will be staying on the cool side.  Also will have to give the lawn its final feeding to take us through until spring.  The palm trees also need a trimming but the trees are just too tall for me to do that job so I will have to hire that work done.  I remember those trees when they were only 3 ft high now they are about 15 to 20 ft high.  This old man does not need to be up on a ladder doing that work.

The river is getting back to normal but still seeing reports of floating logs and other debris to watch out for.  Water is still high so one needs to be careful when running.  We sure are wanting to do some fall fishing before we get serious about selling the Ranger.  If possible we are wanting to have one more trip to Santee just for old times sake.  I am feeling well enough to go fishing but the Mrs. is still having some issues so any trip plans are hit and miss at this time.

Pferox, glad to see you stopped by for a visit. Don't be a stranger.

Pferox

Good Mornin' Y'all.

Good to hear you are getting stuff done around the homestead, Bud.  Jan doesn't let me do much around here anymore since the Dr. yelled at us for me doing heavy chores.  Like you, I'm grounded from ladders, although I do sneak up a step stool once in a while and hear about it for days. LOL.

Right now we're getting Tropical Storm Warnings, so I guess we will be hunkering down for a few days soon.  We are on the tip of the clean side, so I figure it will be just wet and windy, maybe some low tides with the wind sucking out to the Gulf.

Y'all up North of us, especially in Louisiana take care, even though it is a tropical storm, it can up to a hurricane in a heartbeat.

Good morning to everyone,

Beautiful Fall like weather day here in Central Texas  :)   Our forecasted temps for across the area are 71-89dgrs with 41%humidity with a NE wind @ 8mphs.  It's feeling really nice here with these cooler temps we're having.

Not a whole lot going here here lately.  I've attending my medical lab appointments as scheduled.  My kidney doctor has decreased some of my meds due to improvements being made.  I have an MRI appointment coming up soon for a check of my prostrate.  Other than that I'm feeling pretty good beings the cooler weather has moved in.
I'm thinking about taking the Stratos out here soon.  I'm still a little Leary of being out on the water by myself.  I need to replace both boat covers on the G3 and Stratos.  The last round of nasty weather really did a job on trashing them.  I've been a kinda lazy on getting them replaced  ~b~

Bud; Tks for stopping by and sharing the time with us.  Fall yard work is upon us here also.  My wife was out weeding her flower beds a couple days ago.  They're looking better.  I hope your wife continues to get to feeling better so you both can get the Ranger out on the water.

Jim; My good man Great to see you on line again.  Sorry to hear of the lost there.  Pets are very much a part of the family.  I hope you continue to get to feeling better.

To everyone I hope your day is going as planned.  Be safe in your travels and be mindful of your surroundings.  Tight lines for those hitting the water.

Good morning guys.

Man, what an "adventurous afternoon" that was yesterday. Was able to throw a few casts after work and landed a few small peacocks. Then got to watch some "insanity" as some island guys somewere where screaming in creole. I finally spotted them in the opposite bank. They were chasing the muscovy ducks with a machete, and got ahold of one. Guess someone in the park already called the Sheriff because not even a minute later they were on the ground and in the back of a patrol car. WTH is this place coming to?!..

Anyways, here's the few small peacocks. Don't mind the bridge troll holding the rod.

Another good weather day on tap today here at the beach.  Temps to the lower 80s with some cloudy skies.  A good day to finish up the yard work.  Today is mowing and trimming.  Forecasters have the following few days with a rain forecast due to a low forming off the coast.  It is tropical but not in any storm categories.  Just gonna be a little wet for a few days.

Yesterday was bowling day so I had a limited work schedule.  Just a few inside chores before heading to the lanes.  Bowling still doing ok but not fantastic but I'll take it.  The game just gets me out of the house and provides a different level of exercise.  Physically I am doing much better than when I returned to the game a year ago.  Fact is I am still an old geezer so I can just do the best I can.  I am just happy to be able to still go bowling.

Donald Garner

Good afternoon to all,

It's been another beautiful, pleasant day here in Central Texas today.  Our forecasted temps for today were 67-88dgrs with 49%humidity with a N wind @ 10mphs.   The next 10days or so we're looking at 70's for the lows and mid 90's for our highs.  There's going to be lots of sun out and about here these next few days.

Busy morning here for me I was feeling really good and decided to fire up the John Deere and do a little yard work.  Got the yard mowed and trimmed and everything cleaned up in around 3hours.  I took my time with stopping for a couple breaks after mowing and trimming.  Came in and showered now I'm trying to decide what to have for lunch.  There's nothing that sounds good to me right now.

Bud; Tks for stopping by glad you had the opportunity to finish up your yard work prior to the nasty weather coming in.  Glad your still bowling there also.  You know this already...we just have to make the best of the situation and enjoy the time we have.

I'm still thinking about selling my Stratos but If I continue to have these good days (feeling energized) the though of selling be on the back burner.  I'm going to give it till late Spring before I finalize the though of selling.

To everyone I hope your day is going well for ya.  Be safe in your travels and be mindful of your surroundings.  Yawl have a relaxing and pleasant evening ahead.

Joe, when you get to go fishing do you have a fishing partner or do you have to go solo.

Hey Bud.  It depends.  Most of the time I am by myself.  But sometimes my dad wants to go, sometimes my GF goes.  But about 90 percent of the time it is just me.  This is actually fine by me.  I use that time a lot to reset my mind away from all the dev/eng stuff I do.

Good morning to everyone,

Partly sunny skies with forecasted temps of 76-97dgrs with 61%humidity with a S wind @ 7mphs.  We have lots of sun in the upcoming forecasts the next 10 days  ~sun

It was busy here this morning as I did some house cleaning  ~sweat   I did all the floors vacuuming the carpets in the bedrooms.  After vacuuming the hardwood floors I cleaned them with a Swifter  ~shade   We're done till the next cleaning  ;)

There's nothing planned for the rest of the day except relaxing.

Joe; Tks for stopping by and tight lines on your next outing  ;)   Let that Cat Run   :)

Bud; Hope you and  your wife have a pleasant day and weekend ahead buddy.

Donald, you and I are on the same task schedule.  I have to do the vacuuming followed by some swiffer action today.  That should end my tasks until supper time.  Tonight we are having a breakfast for Supper.  Pancakes with bacon and a fried egg with some coffee to top the meal off.

It is supposed to rain today but none has arrived just yet. The forecasters have not been able to see if the low along the coast will develop.  If it does then we will probably have a very wet few days.  If it does not develop then we still may have a few hit and scattered showers.  We need some rain so I hope we at least get something significant and not just a few spritzes.

I understand not moving too fast on selling the boat.  I am in the same situation.  I really don't want to sell unless someone would knock on the door and make an offer.  I think most of us old boat owners realize that the boat is a family member and that makes it hard to just treat it like a piece of fiberglass.

caddyjoe77

looks to be setting up like a frog kind of bite, at least this weekend and the early part of next week.  Bud, I will never forget that epic frog day you and Lee had.

Tying up some loose ends for my vacation next week.  Other than that, going to make sure the frog box is all ready to go.  Check the oil in the kitty and get her ready for this weekend and next week.  Maybe even this afternoon

Hope you are all doing well.

Joe, I will never forget that day either.  Just the joy of fishing with Lee was great but to catch a bunch of nice bass was just icing on the cake.

It was a fairly cool overcast day with plenty of rain.  As long as it was raining the mats were doing their snap crackle pop routine.  Once the rain stopped so did the bite. It was about 4-5 hours of bass fishing bliss thats for sure.  We had a bag that was probably in the mid to upper 20s. Total bass for that day was likely in the upper 30s maybe even 40 as we caught a bunch.  I still laugh that each year we claim it was much more than that LOL  All I know is that it was one of my best days of frog fishing ever.

How's it going guys.

Been just laying low for a while. Been kinda out of it after my son moved to Olean NY. Gave my wife and I about 2 weeks head's up. And now it's wierd around here. Got a boat project, but no one to go fishing with either.

So just been bank hopping and catching a few small bass and peacocks here & there.

Son used one of my Favorite combos to go snook fishing before he left, but didn't rinse it out. So all the bearings siezed up. But found this company online called Spoolspeed.com, and was able to mic (I own a micrometer) and order all the bearings for it.

Army retirement is coming up quick, so guess I'll be doing some weekend traveling to some of these S & Central FL hotspots like Headwaters, Weohyakapka, Placid, Istokpoga, etc..

Now that I have free time again, I'll be here a little more often.

Take care

Wet and windy has been the condition for the past couple days. Storm coming ashore today and will be mostly out of here by Tuesday.  So far not all that much rain but mostly lite tropical type squalls with misty drizzle between squalls.  Heavier rain expected this afternoon but mostly up near North Myrtle Beach and the NC boarder.  I am located down by Murrells Inlet on the far south end of the grand strand.

I went out to get groceries a while ago but just too much rain to deal with.  I just dont want to be dragging groceries to the car than into the house in the rain.  Might be some clearing by late this afternoon.  If so I will do groceries at that time or might just wait until Tuesday.

Donald Garner

Greetings to everyone,

Partly sunny skies here across Central Texas this morning.  Our forecasted temps for today are 70-92dgrs with 58%humidity with an E wind @ 6mphs.  There's no rain in the upcoming 5 day forecast.

Went to my VA Medical Lab appointment this morning.  Team Vampire was in full force drawing blood from a lot of us.  I had breakfast down in the cafeteria once they were done.  Those biscuits with gravy, fried eggs with hash browns, bacon and orange juice sure hit the spot  :food

There is nothing planned for the rest of the day.  It's already starting to get hot so I'm going to just relax and enjoy the AC  ~shade

Bud; Tks for stopping by hope the rain doesn't last to long there.

Top; Yep it's weird for a little while after the kids leave.  Hey you and the wife enjoy the time together and good luck with the upcoming retirement.

Joe; Well did you get out and let the Cat stretch its legs?  Hope you had a pleasant and enjoyable weekend.

To everyone enjoy the day, be safe in your travels if you have to be out and about.

Did get the generator installed, waiting on the LP tank install.  Plus I need this afternoon to be recovered enough to get out there.  Fortunately i am off this whole week.
