Conditions:

Water temps: 85-90
Wind: SE 5-10
Skies: Sunny
Water clarity: Stained
Water level: dropping
Outside temps: 92-94 Heat index of 109
Fishing Time: 0630-12:30
Fish boated: A bunch!

Had the privilege of fishing with my one of my regulars named Shawn. Today, Shawn introduced me to his nephew named Brennen. Brennen has not fished since he was 10 yrs old, and he's in his early twenties right now.  lo  That means he has ZERO fishing experience. But!! That's a good thing. He was easy to teach.

Shawn and his nephew arrived on schedule. The ramp was busy! After careful maneuvering, we were under way. I ran for a while. I wanted to get away from all the boat traffic. Once we reached our first spot, the fish were there to greet us!

For the first couple of hours, I taught Brennen casting mechanics. Fortunately, the bass and peacocks were cooperating because Brennen was catching fish as he was learning how to cast!!  lo  lo

We didn't move around much the first half of the outing. After Shawn and Brennen had their fill of catching, we started to move around, hoping to find bigger fish.

Unfortunately, a big fish catch did not materialize on this trip. These guys had a lot of fun! Brennen did great. By the end of the trip, his mechanics improved a lot.

By 12:15, these guys had had enough and tapped out.  :surrender:  The heat was ridiculous, and I wanted to avoid any of these guys suffering from heat exhaustion at all costs!!  ~sweat  ~sweat  ~str

All in all, it was a fun outing! The fishing right now is off charts!

Shawn also wanted me to share, that if anyone is interested in a guide trip, he would be open to split the trip to offset costs, and go in 50/50. So I'm putting that out there in case anyone is interested. PM me for more details.

Thanks for reading!!
