Conditions:

Skies: Cloudy
Temps: 80's
Wind: East - 5 to 10
Water Clarity: Clear
Current: Yes
Bass Boated: 29
Baits used: Assortment
Fishing Time: 4pm-7:30pm

Had the pleasure of FINALLY fishing with South Florida UB member Backlash123. We have been wanting to fish together for several years now, and we made it happen yesterday afternoon.

We arrived at the ramp a little after 3:30pm, and had our lines in shortly after. I had a swirl and a miss on my first cast with my top water bait. Short time later, I connected with a bass. Backlash figured out the bottom bite with soft plastics and began to get bites.

Despite the amazing conditions, the bass were really finicky. Seeing how Backlash bottom baits were receiving more attention than my top water baits, I decided to fish the bottom as well. As Backlash and I moved along, I noticed a great spot to make a cast to. Made the cast, and few seconds later felt a light tick. Looked over at my line and the line began moving into deeper water. Reeled in the slack, set the hook, and the fight was on! When the bass jumped, and we saw the size, Backlash quickly got his net ready, while I took my time fighting the bass. A few runs later, Backlash netted a pretty 5lb 13oz beauty for me. A couple of fist bumps later, we went back to work.

As the sun began to set, we focused our attention on the big bite. Again, the conditions were too good not to try. Backlash began working the pad lines and started to get the attention of some pretty nice bass. Unfortunately, several of these bass got the upper hand and came off.  :'(  Fortunately, however, Backlash persistence paid off, and he stuck a decent one.

The highlight of the outing was when Backlash was fishing with the frog. The water around his frog erupted!! Backlash expertly set the hook, and it made a solid connection!! Sadly, however, he connected with a 7 foot gator that was cleverly hiding in the pads.  :o Too make things worse, the gator snapped his line and robbed his brand new frog.  :(

With time running out, we kept working the vegetation, caught several more bass, but none of the big girls decided to come out and play. Oh well, next time.

@Backlash123, brother, thank you for the invite. I had a blast fishing with you! I'm looking forward to our schedules to coincide again to pick up where we left off!  ~beer~

Thank you for reading!

Congratulations, looks like y'all had a good day.

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work.
