The new Eric Cagle signature series rods are going to have forward grips. I hope this style grip copies over to the other rods.

Each to his own I always say. While it wouldn't stop me from using Dobyns rods, personally I don't like them so if Gary is going to offer them on other rod lines I hope he makes both styles available so anglers can choose for themselves which style they prefer.

I used to be a forward grip fan until I started fishing the Dobyns rods. I now I prefer the way my fingers sit on the blank as I believe it makes it more sensitive.

Same. I much prefer rods without them. They look nice, but that's about it.

I actually like both, with and (almost) without forgrips. I want a foregrip for any type of jerkbait or crankbait fishing. Basically any "moving" bait. But I prefer a split grip like the previous St. Croix Mojo had for any type of jig or worm fishing, or anything that sensitivity is needed.
