For me the biggest news out of ICAST was the new Fenwicks. Since they were the first rods I fished and I caught my biggest bass ever on one they've always had special place for me .Pure fishing owns them now and while I've never been the biggest ABU fan I think these are really going to be special
They hired Justin Poe and Dave Brinkerhoff from Loomis/Shimano to head up the redesign
Those guys are the designers of what I think is the best 1/2 jig rod on the planet, the NRX 873 CCR.
Not surprisingly there is what's basically a copy of the 873 in the new world class.
I have that one on the way as well as a Elite and HMG.
I'm anxious to try them and hopefully the Fenwick name ends up back where it belongs.

Loomis, I fell in love with the new lineup of Fenwick Rods. All models are new and designed from the ground up. I've got one of the new Fenwick World Class spinning rods. It's super light, extremely sensitive, and the action is spot on. I love it.

What is unique about all of their different models is what they call family flex. It doesn't matter if you pick up the $99 Eagle or the high end World Class or any model in between, the action is exactly the same.

I've had the pleasure of testing all of their lineup and I'm all in. My next rod will be a Fenwick.

One other thing that I forgot to mention is that Fenwick hired a hand specialist to help design all of their handles for comfort and sensitivity. All of their handles are Fenwick designed.

Glad to hear you like them !. I'm jealous you have your already. Mine should be on the way soon . I have a world class, an Elite spinning rod and a HMG reaction bait rod coming.

My next rod will be a ML spinning rod. I'll probably go with the HMG because it's in my price range. I've fished all 4 of their rod models during a media trip and was blown away impressed.

I was a long time Fenwick fan. Glad to see they are making a possible come back.

I just ordered my second new Fenwick rod. Since money was tight, I went with the Eagle 7' ML spinning rod. Now I will have the top of the line World Class and the lower end Eagle. All Fenwicks are on sale this week at TW for 20% off.

During my years living in New England all of my rods were Fenwick.  I still have a couple in my rod rack as well as some ultra light spinning reels that I dearly loved. As I remember the rods were all identified under the name Bass Class.  These were just perfect for most of the Smallmouth waters that I fished.  I had actually landed bass over 5 lb on the ultra light set ups.  The rods and reels were always up to the task.

Be careful... The models on sale are the older versions.

I had a good test run with the Fenwick Eagle 7' ML spinning rod. For a $100 rod, it performed above expectations. I matched the rod with my Daiwa Fuego 2500, with 10 lb. Braid and an 8 lb. fluorocarbon leader.

I started with a Savage Gear ned rig and first cast, bingo a fish! I easily felt the slight tap so I was impressed with the sensitivity. I worked around the pond and caught 9 on the ned up to 2 lbs.

I switched to a 13 Fishing Whipper Snapper jerkbait and went to work catching 10 more.

The rod was overall light in the hand, sensitive and the ML action easily casted the light baits in the wind.

For $100, it is a great buy.

I got my World Class 7ft 3 MH I'm really impressed . They guys doing the redesign came from Loomis/Shimano and it shows . They have brought some of the NRX/GLX actions with them or at least put a Fenwick spin on them.
I will be trying some of the Eagles and HMG's.
