Took another trip out to the Holey lands. Arrived to a very dark ramp at 0 dark thirty. Launched and was underway. I went back to the area where I caught the 20 bass from Monday.

Again, it was quiet. Did see several deer moving around, but the bass were quiet. After about 20 min, I landed my first bass on the spook.

Stayed with the spook for a spell and caught bass here and there. No real size to them, but fun nonetheless.

The spook bite died down, so I threw a few other techniques. Fished down below for a while, nothing. Threw the swim bait for a spell, nothing. Went back to the spook and caught a few more bass here and there. Bite slowed again, so I switched to a fluke. Caught a peacock, which surprised me, but that was it.

The bite seemed to shut off, but I decided to take a play out of FlatsNBays play book and started throwing the spinner bait. The wind had picked considerably, so with nothing to lose, I started chucking and winding.

Within a short while, I had my first strike. Little guy but fun! Next cast another one! Twin! Kept at it, and began to consistently pull in bass.

As the wind continued to pick up, I had no choice but to throw out the drift sock. Moving along with the wind, I continue to catch bass with the spinner bait. Some decent ones came out to play. The biggest bass was a chunky 3 pounder.

Bite began to slow down again as noon approached. The chucking and winding started catching up to me too, so I called the trip a little after 12:15. Looked at the fish counter and successfully boated 35. I'll take it!!

Thanks for reading!

Good job Lou. ~c~   Great place to go on a  windy day.  Those high banks block a lot, and you can usually find the right direction to get the job done.  Thanks for the report!
