Does anyone have this rod or have used this rod? I've been thinking of trying one out, but I was wanting some user feedback. I use to mostly for T-rigs.

I have a 714C and like almost ever 4 power model Gary provides, it is highly versatile.  I has some great attributes and features. Foremost, the rod is both light and perfectly balanced.  The rod is a true fast action and the tip section transfers in to lock up very quickly while still providing an active tip. This translates to great feel an secure hook sets.

The rod is Toray blend with fugi reel seat american tackle guide sets that are well proven.

The rod is a great caster and excellent skipper. I fish mine as a dedicated skippin rod tip and power baby.  Makes a grea t t rig and Jig rod.  It no slouch as a spinnerbait and buzzbait stick. This model is a no brainer purchase.

I just picked up a 714 and put it to work this past weekend. Great T-rig rod. I threw a baby brush hog and mag u-tail with a pegged 1/4oz tungsten. A brisk wind and the tide was too much for the 1/4oz with a trick worm, but I caught the most fish with a 3/8oz and a trick worm.

I have a couple of Kadens, but not the 714. I do have a Fury that's a 4 power, and 3/8 oz seems to be about the sweet spot for that rod in terms of casting. Sounds like it might be the same with the Kaden 4s.

Yeah 3/8 was perfect with almost any soft plastic. 1/4oz works fine with a bait with a little more weight to it. I was also fishing in the tide and a little wind which made it more difficult to keep contact with my lure.

What's everyone's thoughts on the sensitivity of the 714? How would you compare it to the Champion XP 735 (Extra Fast tip)?  I think both will work down to 1/4 oz

I've not used mine a lot to be able to compare it to the Champ XP series. I've read the diff is a small Margin. I plan on testing it out in about a month. I like split grip settle though imo.
