Okay... Let's get right to it.  Without further adieu, Here is the official 2023 SJHT Union Lake Open Buddy Tale of the Tape

Let's give a big congrats to this years 2023  New SJHT 20th Annual Union Lake Open Buddy Tournament finishers.

1st Place winners of Greg DiPalma & Mike Sims with an amazing 5 Bass weighing 14.62lbs  $672.00

2nd Place Team Eric Peck & Luis Botello 5 Bass weighing 9.62lbs (after .50lb Dead Fish Penalty) $403.20.

3rd Place Team and Lunker Winner of Howard Brown with 4 Bass weighing 9.07lbs $268.80 and 5.00lb Lunker $240.00

Anglers and their catches:

(L to R)  2nd, 1st, and 3rd Place and Lunker Champs:

In Summary: 18 out of 24 Boaters caught at least 1 Bass and weighed in.  There were #6 of DNW a Fish and may have released them before coming to the scales.

There were a total of 62 overall Bass weighed-in totaling 105.96lbs.  That gave way to an avg. of 1.71lbs.  There were 59 Largemouth Bass weighed in and 3 Smallmouth Bass weighed in.  As one can surmise by the Tale of the Tape, there was a total of 7 Limits brought to the scales.   We had 2 bass diie, although we did have High Capacity/Efficency Oxgenators setup 100 Gallon Holdng Tanks with Rejuvenade.  On a Warm, slight breeze, Sunny 88 Degrees day, this was deemed as very successful.

Anglers reported losing some nice Bass close to the boat as they tried to haul in.  Some anglers caught them in their normal Summer hang outs however catching that kicker Bass seemed very elusive.   The total caught this year compared to last year was slightly down by 5 Bass overall and roughly 13lbs total weight overall.  We had the same 24 anglers like we had in 2022.

Congrats to the prize winners and all that came out and supported the 20th annual SJHT Bass Fishing Club Union Lake Open Buddy Tournament.

Thanks again to all who came out on this 4th of July Holiday event.  I know you could have been in a million and one other places but we're just appreciative to all who showed the love.
