Upper Potomac smallmouth fishing

Fished the upper Potomac today above Harpers Ferry, we caught about a dozen smallmouth with the biggest weighing 2lbs. Caught the bigger fish with a Pop R lure around trees on the shoreline.
I used a new to me bait called a Hit Stick from Berkley that worked pretty well in the morning when the bass were chasing bait fish. Later in the day a Yamamoto 4"senko got most of the bites. Lots of small 11-12 inch fish, we had a fun day on the water. We saw so many deer with fawns along the shore and traveling to the launch ramp, which lets us know, the good Lord is keeping our wildlife thriving.
