Fished the upper third of the lake yesterday, maybe practicing for the next tournament (and maybe deciding that this isn't for me any more). Anyway.

Lake was at full pool, no power generation until late afternoon or early evening. Skies were high and clear with a few white puffies, and the air temp peaked in the low 90's with an off and on pleasurable breeze. Water temps were in the low 80's, and water visibility was 10"-2 feet.

Fishing was overall tough with no current. My fish all came off of squarebills burnt in shallow water on the main river, a Deep Little N on offshore stuff, and a 10" worm fished around shallow wood. The best bass of the day, about 4 pounds, fell for this. It was a tough bite for sure, and the fact that I didn't get on the water until 10 AM was maybe part of it.

I also fished Truman three days last week, and couldn't put enough together to share anything. Squarebills bounced off of timber in 8' of water counted for three keeper bites in three days. Sad, I know.
