I just got word today that St. John's Water Management District announced at the recreational meeting that the town of Fellsmere received a grant to fully pave Fellsmere Grade which is the dirt road going to Headwaters Lake and the Stick Marsh. Construction will begin next year. Can't wait! That's great news.

I am still trying to get dust out of my black boat, truck, and cover.

I still haven't taken the Bass Cat down that dusty road. I don't want to trash it just yet.

Us "tinnys" don't have that problem with mud or dirt. I kid, I kid..

There are some locals that have told me they like it dirty because it keeps a percentage away.  It's about time they did this.

As a local, pavement would be even more important imo. I cover the boat and fish all day, usually 3 or 4 days in a row. Wash and vacuum when I get back.
If you wanted to go for just a few hours, trashing your stuff would be a real consideration.
In my experience, the parking lot fills up every day anyway.

This is great news because that Gravel road ads about 2 hours boat cleaning when you return home. The dust is on everything and does not wash off easily. I once made a comment about it on their FB page and got berated for complaining about the road. Them guys all take it personal trust me.

I just heard the Stick Marsh will be closed to boats for a two year draw down.  Most areas are too shallow now for safe travel.  With the road work at Head Waters the place should be crazy for parking spots, especially during the winter.  Lots of traffic should be diverted to Garcia.  It's going to get crazy out there.
