The nightmare with my 2018 Evinrude Etec G2 continues (see earlier entries).  After having my boat sidelined due to hydraulic problems for over a year (starting in December 2021), last March I finally received a whole new hydraulic system.  I'd already ordered a replacement motor (Suzuki) but it hasn't come in yet.  All was well almost to the point of wondering if I really needed to replace the Evinrude.  The other factor, however, was finding out that a local Ranger dealership would not take a boat with an Evinrude Etec as a trade in or even to sell on consignment.  At the end of April, I was fishing a tournament when early at the start of fishing I saw a huge oil slick behind the boat.  Again, I had a hydraulic leak affecting the motor tilt.  The boat has been sitting back at an Evinrude dealership now for three weeks now waiting for a part.  All I can do is hope the Suzuki arrives soon.

What a nightmare!  :'( I hope you have some good luck soon.

Hopefully your new zuke gets in soon and you can get these headaches behind you. Such a pain in the butt dealing with mechanical issues when you just want to get out on the water. The pain in the wallet is no joke either, but the Suzuki ought to give you many years of dependable use. I've never run one of their outboards, but they seem to be really reliable, and from what I hear, easy to work on and maintain.

I had a Zuke 115 2 stroke for 30 years that was light, ran fast, and gave me very few problems.  Have a   yami 4 stroke now that is heavier, and not quite as fast.  Good luck, I hope it comes in soon.  You won't be disappointed.

HUGE Suzuki fan here. I had a 115 on my last Lund and it was by far my favorite outboard. If I ever have the funds to piece together my dream boat it will have a Suzuki on it.
