I've pouted I've moped i fooled around and sorted tackle, serviced reels until there was nothing left but get my useless butt back on the water.

After much discussion with my cousin we have got to turn this slump around. He did the same as me with tackle. We are going to hit the water with all the rods we carry in a tournament and bow up and get positive for a change!

We launched at 9am with 68° Ambient and 72° water temp with variable winds around 5mph. Perfect conditions. We decided wind is your friend is back in play.

We started using everything, fanning anything that looked like  a shad spawn or bluegill beds.

After an hour we had a plan, which for me is grab a crankbait and go to work. It did. I had on largemouth and 2 spots in a 100 yard stretch. Ben got dialed in on the worm bite and here go!

When we called it at 4pm we had 16 in the cooler for a young man that was in dire need of groceries. I have a feeling he was shocked with bass coming out the top of the cooler. (we are going back to giving the spots up to anyone that asks. I did that for decades and I really like helping people out.

If I left anything out please remember it's been close to 2 years since I've been able to fish. Going home to Lake Hickory next and I'm going to do my best and stay positive. It's either that or give it up for good which is no longer an option!

So glad to see you posting! With your past health issues and boat problems I was afraid you had already thrown in the towel on fishing.

Still got you in my daily prayers and looking forward to some more reports to come.

Glad to see ya back it, I have been trying more but knee and back still some problem.  Just got back from the Chowan for four day, a good trip and those fish still mean as ever. ~c~

Great to see you back out there casting. Sounds like you didn't miss a beat when it comes to figuring them out, that's awesome...

Looking forward to seeing your reports throughout the summer.
