No Excuses

I made a flying trip to Hamilton AL and back Friday and Saturday to get the college girl home for the summer. That seriously cramped my weekly fishing trips, so I decided to play hooky from church yesterday morning because the forecast called for rain in the afternoon. It stormed during the night, and the wind was 5-10 and building by the time I got there. Hit my go to point, and nothing. Went to another point and picked up a solid fish. Cut across to a hump with some sparse pads on it. Not the big pads with the V notch in them. These are smaller and kind of pastel colored with long thin wispy stems. Anyway, I caught 3 there this past Wednesday. Hit it again and picked up a couple. Headed to another area and my buddy that lives on Grand Lake in OK called to tell me he had been fishing all morning and zeroed. 12 rods on the deck. Digging thru a tackle bag he ran across some of my Truth Worms. Caught a 3.5 lber on the first cast. We chatted a few then I got back at it. Wound up hitting a stretch of pads where it drops off quick to a creek channel. The wind was blowing in on that bank and I started catching them! I just kept going back and forth as another boat was close by and looking to head thru there. Wound up being a guy I know and they caught nothing there after I left cause I seined it!!!! It was a great day and the new Green Sunfish color was on fire! My battery was dead in the Electro Samson scale, but I had well better than 15lbs conservatively by my best guesstimation.   Hope ya'll enjoy!
