Everglades "After the Flood" (4/14/23)

I decided to check some areas out on the alley today.
As I drove to the ramp, I could see plenty of flooded areas. My concern was to find the ramp flooded as well.

Well,, fortunately that's was not the case. My tires didn't even touch the water backing down.

The water is up, but it's not CRAZY high as everyone was expecting.

Launched before sunrise and made the run to my first spot. Fished several lures to no avail.

Since I have a guide trip coming up, I wasn't going to waste time fishing unproductive water.

Spot number 2 started off slow too, but I noticed something and changed gears.

On the first cast with a new bait, I caught a decent bass.



A few casts later, I connected again. I put the bait away short while later, and continued fishing with other baits.



I connected with several more bass and called it day at 11 am.





The water is pretty stained, but there was no current. Saw plenty of bass and peacocks.

I will provide a more informative report after my guide trip.

Great report. I bet they'll start moving a lot of water and things will drastically change.
