Logan McDaniel brought a 12.86 pound largemouth to the scales during Wild West Bass Trail Pro/Am at Lake Oroville Saturday!

Let me add that Lake Oroville is a deep (700 feet when full) canyon reservoir.  Second largest in California, 3.5 million acre feet. Primary bass are Alabama spotted bass.  The largemouth are few and far between, and smallmouth are even more rare.  11-13 pounds is a real good tournament sack.  Because of water level fluctuations, largemouth spawn is not that great.  But there are a few that succeed and it is always exciting to find one on the end of your line!  A few big ones show up every year around this time.

What a bass. I always loved Orville this time of year. Someone or two was going to catch a giant.
