After a very disappointing trip to Clear Lake on Monday with James, I took an invite from Rodney to go out to Camp Far West.  He has the Humminbird full Monte (almost) on his boat and wanted to show it off.  With a 10" and 12" Helix, Ultrex, Mega 360 and Mega Live, I had fun playing with the technology.  It didn't really help us catch fish though.  Water temp was 47-48 degrees, clarity between 2-3 feet.  Air temp was 35 when we started, partly cloudy, light winds up to about 8 mph from the South.  Only warmed up to about 45-46.  I was all bundled up in multiple layers. Rodney was in shorts!  We figured out that fish we in a pre-spawn pattern.  We found some on flatter points outside of coves and creeks.  They were not too interested in chasing.  Rodney did catch one on an a-rig and one on a shad 3XD.  I caught one on a ned rig and 4 on a hula grub on a 3/8 football head.  Fish were from 4-10 feet.  Size from 1.25 up to 2.5.  All were spotted bass. This winter and spring, the fishing has been pretty darn slow for me compared to previous years.  Was nice to catch a limit.  Will have to wait out this next series of storms and head out again.
I knew I shoulda re-tied!!

Thanks for the report!  We've had some tough fishing in pre-spawn here as well...

Mike- we've got Snow all over! It's way chillier than usual. I'm expecting mid 50s at best Sunday on San Vicente.
