2019 200 hp Evinrude Etec G2.  My rig is still at an Evinrude dealer (since August) waiting for a backordered hydraulic steering unit.  Due at end of October, mid-January, mid-November, and mid-December.  Talked to Anglers Choice about trading in my boat on a new one or sell on consignment after repairs are made.  Anglers Choice will not handle a boat with an Evinrude motor due to questionable parts availability.   So, Plan B is to wait for repairs and in the meantime have the Evinrude dealer order another (not Evinrude) motor to replace my current G2 once fixed or as soon as the new motor arrives at the Evinrude dealership.  Haven't discussed this option with the dealer yet but one way or the other my Evinrude has got to go.  See you on the water.....I may be your non-boater partner!

Bob, you have done everything you can.  The decision to just get a new motor (not evinrude) is probably the best way to go.  No matter what it is gonna hit your wallet hard and I am sorry you have to endure that but there is not much else you could possibly do.

This is just brutal to read. The dealership that sold you the boat should fix this. But it will take a lawyer to make that happen and you're out money that way too...

I can't imagine what you're going through. I would have been putting .270 rounds through the dealers new boats by now.... Just kidding but it sure would make me feel better.

New hydraulic steering unit installed and everything running OK.  The temptation is to keep the Evinrude but trying to sell the boat with an Evinrude down the road might be impossible.  I get a new Suzuki in April.  The dealer will sell my Evinrude on consignment.  I'm back on the water.

Sorry to hear you going through all that with the Evinrude.  Unfortunate for sure and hopefully you take too big of a hit on the consignment sale.  Given the scarcity of some of the motors, yours may actually sell at break even, minus usual depreciation...
